Jogar videogame a princípio é só diversão, mas esse mercado está longe de ser brincadeira, movimenta por ano quase 2 trilhões de dólares. Porém, apesar dos números, existem poucos estudos acadêmicos são realizados sobre esse mercado. Desse modo, esse livro e sua pesquisa teve como intenção ampliar um pouco esse conhecimento de um mercado tão particular, intenso e interessante, particularmente, sobre o produto videogame e seus atributos. Atributos são considerados de grande importância para o marketing por fazer parte da reflexão básica e fundamental sobre o produto na jornada de consumo. Para isso, foi realizada uma varredura sobre as gerações de videogames, mercado e particularidades desse produto, que culminou em uma lista de 39 atributos nunca antes vista em nenhum estudo. Esta lista de atributos foram aplicados em um questionário a 404 jogadores brasileiros das principais comunidades gamers do Facebook para ser entendida a relevância e o ranking destes eles. O ranqueamento utilizou a técnica de Top Two Box e para verificar as diferenças entre as variáveis sociodemográficas foi utilizado o teste não paramétrico de Wilcoxon-Mann-Whitney e de Kruskal-Wallis. Além disso, foi também avaliada a existência de diferenças nessas relevâncias por gênero e faixa etária. Acredito que os resultados apresentados são bem interessantes, e os gamers poderão gostar de vê-los, acadêmica tem grande relevância pelo ineditismo, e quem sabe auxiliar a todos os participantes dessa indústria no desenvolvimento dos videogames e produtos correlatos, a partir do entendimento do consumidor, seu perfil, preferencias e influências na compra.
