Mastering the Embassy Framework Are you starving for a way to bring modern, high-level asynchronous programming to the bare metal without sacrificing a single cycle of performance? For too long, embedded developers have been forced to choose between the chaotic spaghetti code of interrupt-driven superloops or the heavy resource overhead of a traditional RTOS. You know there is a better way to handle concurrency, and you are ready to demand more from your firmware. "Mastering the Embassy Framework" is your definitive blueprint for the future of embedded development. This book solves the "concurrency crisis" by teaching you how to wield the power of Rust's async/await model directly on microcontrollers. It strips away the mystery of asynchronous runtimes, handing you the keys to build safe, blazing-fast, and energy-efficient firmware that is a joy to write and maintain. Inside, you will transform your development process: Crush Concurrency Complexity: Say goodbye to callback hell. Learn to write multitasking code that looks sequential and reads like a high-level application, all managed by Embassy's efficient executor. Conquer the Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL): specific techniques to write portable, reusable drivers that interact seamlessly with peripherals across different chip families. Build Robust IoT Solutions: Dive deep into no_std networking. From managing USB classes to implementing Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Wi-Fi stacks, you will build connected devices that stay connected. Achieve Panic-Free Reliability: Leverage Rust's borrow checker alongside Embassy's design to guarantee memory safety at compile time, eliminating race conditions before they ever touch the silicon. Stop wrestling with legacy firmware practices. Upgrade your toolkit, future-proof your career, and build the next generation of embedded systems with confidence. Grab your copy today and start coding the future.

As secretary of state, James A. Baker III played a critical role on the world stage in the final years of the Cold War as the Soviet Union unraveled. His political sense and the ability to test Soviet leaders, negotiate insoluble problems in the Middle East, charm friends, and achieve the placement of a unified Germany in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization were unmatched. Diana Villiers Negroponte, an author, lawyer, and professor, highlights how Baker mobilized a coalition of international military forces, including the Soviets, to repel Saddam Hussein from Kuwait. Baker seduced Israeli and West Bank Palestinians to meet face to face and begin the Oslo peace process and ended two civil wars in Central America. While he was initially hesitant about the Nunn Lugar bill to safeguard Soviet nuclear weapons, he became a driving force to transport nuclear material to secure sites in Russia. The author also highlights Baker’s failures, such as the inability to hold Yugoslavia together or to provide sufficient funds to stop the collapse of the Soviet economy. With a foreword written by former President George H.W. Bush, this book reveals Baker’s skills as a statesman—and explores how he changed the world.

Crisis Management Beyond The Humanitarian Development Nexus written by Atsushi Hanatani and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-09-27 with Social Science categories.
In addressing humanitarian crises, the international community has long understood the need to extend beyond providing immediate relief, and to engage with long-term recovery activities and the prevention of similar crises in the future. However, this continuum from short-term relief to rehabilitation and development has often proved difficult to achieve. This book aims to shed light on the continuum of humanitarian crisis management, particularly from the viewpoint of major bilateral donors and agencies. Focusing on cases of armed conflicts and disasters, the authors describe the evolution of approaches and lessons learnt in practice when moving from emergency relief to recovery and prevention of future crises. Drawing on an extensive research project conducted by the Japan International Cooperation Agency Research Institute, this book compares how a range of international organizations, bilateral cooperation agencies, NGOs, and research institutes have approached the continuum in international humanitarian crisis management. The book draws on six humanitarian crises case studies, each resulting from armed conflict or natural disasters: Timor-Leste, South Sudan, the Syrian crisis, Hurricane Mitch in Honduras, the Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami in Indonesia, and Typhoon Yolanda. The book concludes by proposing a common conceptual framework designed to appeal to different stakeholders involved in crisis management. Following on from the World Humanitarian Summit, where a new way of working on the humanitarian-development nexus was highlighted as one of five major priority trends, this book is a timely contribution to the debate which should interest researchers of humanitarian studies, conflict and peace studies, and disaster risk-management.
