Exploring Practical Philosophy From Action To Values written by Dan Egonsson and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-10-24 with Philosophy categories.
This title was first published in 28/11/2001: The broad label ’practical philosophy’ brings together such topics as ethics and metaethics as well as philosophy of law, society, art and religion. In practical philosophy, theory of value and action is basic, and woven into our understanding of all practical and ethical reasoning. New essays from leading international philosophers illustrate that substantial results in the subdisciplines of practical philosophy require insights into its core issues: the nature of actions, persons, values and reasons. This anthology is published in honour of Ingmar Persson on his fiftieth birthday.

The Philosophy Of The Practical Economic And Ethic written by Benedetto Croce and has been published by DigiCat this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-09-04 with Philosophy categories.
In "The Philosophy of the Practical: Economic and Ethic," Benedetto Croce elucidates the intricate relationship between economic principles and ethical considerations, positing that practical actions stem from a synthesis of economic realities and ethical decisions. Written in a style that harmonizes philosophical rigor with accessible reasoning, Croce deftly navigates through the rich Italian cultural milieu of the early 20th century, situating his arguments within a historical context marked by the upheaval of modernity. His dialogic method and careful analysis invite readers to reassess their understanding of both economics and ethics, emphasizing their interconnectedness rather than treating them as isolated domains of thought. Benedetto Croce (1866-1952), a prominent Italian philosopher, art historian, and politician, emerged as a key figure in Italian intellectual life. His extensive work in aesthetics and history laid a foundation for his exploration of practical philosophy, motivating him to address the broader implications of economic actions on societal ethics. Croce's experiences as a public figure during tumultuous political changes in Italy deeply influenced his philosophical outlook, driving his examination of the ethical dimensions inherent in practical undertakings. This book is highly recommended for those interested in the interplay between philosophy and economics, as well as for scholars exploring the ethical implications of economic actions. Croce's insights remain profoundly relevant today as we navigate a world where ethical considerations increasingly shape economic policies. This handbook is written in plain and comprehensible language; it is addressed to everyone and creates a feeling for the reader like a friend who is speaking to him. Everything you will read are suggestions and views of various philosophers on key issues of life and how to help people live happily in this life. This particular way of thinking comes from the past, when thousands of years ago philosophers saw the need for the spiritual cultivation of man as a sentient being in order to be able to better enjoy life in organized societies. The handbook consists of three chapters, which are as follows: In the first chapter, advice is given in order to enable a person to cultivate a good relationship with himself. In the second chapter, advice is given on how to cultivate a good relationship with other people, starting with family, friends, neighbors, and with all those who coexist in the same society. The third chapter familiarizes you with the concepts of life and death so you can better appreciate the value of time and life while, at the same time, relieving yourself of the fear of death.

Life And Action written by Michael Thompson and has been published by Harvard University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-03-05 with Philosophy categories.
Any sound practical philosophy must be clear on practical concepts—concepts, in particular, of life, action, and practice. This clarity is Michael Thompson’s aim in his ambitious work. In Thompson’s view, failure to comprehend the structures of thought and judgment expressed in these concepts has disfigured modern moral philosophy, rendering it incapable of addressing the larger questions that should be its focus. In three investigations, Thompson considers life, action, and practice successively, attempting to exhibit these interrelated concepts as pure categories of thought, and to show how a proper exposition of them must be Aristotelian in character. He contends that the pure character of these categories, and the Aristotelian forms of reflection necessary to grasp them, are systematically obscured by modern theoretical philosophy, which thus blocks the way to the renewal of practical philosophy. His work recovers the possibility, within the tradition of analytic philosophy, of hazarding powerful generalities, and of focusing on the larger issues—like “life”—that have the power to revive philosophy. As an attempt to relocate crucial concepts from moral philosophy and the theory of action into what might be called the metaphysics of life, this original work promises to reconfigure a whole sector of philosophy. It is a work that any student of contemporary philosophy must grapple with.
