The Hasselt Triennial is a dynamic art project for contemporary art, fashion and design, and all possible relations between them. The current edition SuperStories has international ambitions and comes with a range of interesting exhibitions which are linked to performing arts. The triennial program, with works by 50 national and international artists, fashion designers & designers, responds to the use of narrative and documentary elements within contemporary art, fashion and design. This volume shows the reflective nature of the study of folklore. The dynamics of creating histories, nations, ideologies and identities are treated in various cultural arenas and historical contexts, ranging from academic, national and literate cultures to oral traditions.
