Software Paradigms provides the first complete compilation of software paradigms commonly used to develop large software applications, with coverage ranging from discrete problems to full-scale applications. The book focuses on providing a structure for understanding a hierarchy of software development approaches, and showing the relationships between the different models. Coverage includes paradigms in design patterns, software components, software architectures, and frameworks. Chapters within each of these sections include design issues related to building and using the paradigm as well as numerous real world applications. A practical overview of the hierarchy of development paradigms, Software Paradigms is an excellent teaching tool for undergraduates and graduates, and a comprehensive and reliable reference for software engineers.

Nowadays, with an increase in requests from users for easily used and personalized workstations, it is necessary to promote basic research into software development techniques, including new languages and communication software, in the network environment. This book contains the results of a joint research project between IBM Japan and twelve universities, the purpose of which was to implement prototypes of some of the technologies that are feasible at current research levels. The project was organized into three groups: 1) paradigms for software development, processing, and communication, 2) natural-language interfaces, and 3) software development environments with related operating systems. The results may be implemented as research tools, possibly for business use, in the field of software development techniques.

Safety Reliability And Applications Of Emerging Intelligent Control Technologies written by Tung-Sang Ng and has been published by Pergamon this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1995 with Computers categories.
Paperback. Increasingly, over the last few years, intelligent controllers have been incorporated into control systems. Presently, the numbers and types of intelligent controllers that contain variations of fuzzy logic, neural network, genetic algorithms or some other forms of knowledge based reasoning technology are dramatically rising. However, considering the stability of the system, when such controllers are included it is difficult to analyse and predict system behaviour under unexpected conditions. Leading researchers and industrial practitioners were able to discuss and evaluate current development and future research directions at the first IFAC International Workshop on safety, reliability and applications on emerging intelligent control technology. This publication contains the papers, covering a wide range of topics, presented at the workshop.

This volume, the proceedings of the Fourth SDL Forum, contains nearly 40 contributions illustrating the latest experiences in applying SDL, the Specification and Description Language recommended by CCITT. SDL is a formal language based on communicating extended state machines and algebraically defined data. The contributions cover training, applications, methodology, language evolution and support tools, including tools for document handling, simulation, test and verification. The book contains descriptions of about 20 SDL tools demonstrated at the Forum, which form an up-to-date survey of those commercially available as well as the more research oriented tools.

"Welcome to the third edition of my C++ text. The highly successful first edition was one of the first textbooks available for teaching C++ in the first programming course. The text was introduced at the 1994 ACM Conference in Phoenix when many were arguing the virtues of teaching C++ and OOP versus Pascal and structured programming in the first programming course. I argued at the time, and still argue, that students need to be taught problem solving early-on using both the structured and object-oriented paradigms and, because of its hybrid nature, C++ is the only language suited to learning both of these paradigms. Since then, many institutions have made the switch from Pascal to C++ for just this reason, as well as the intense industry support for C++ language. As a result, this third edition continues to provide an introduction to both structured and object-oriented problem solving techniques using the C++ language. Of course, many improvements have been made based on using the text in numerous classrooms all over the world since 1994. As with earlier editions, the text starts from the beginning, assuming no previous knowledge of C, or any other programming language. This text is appropriate for any introductory programming (CS1 course using the C++ language as well as experienced programmers wanting an introduction to structured and object-oriented problem solving techniques using the C++ language"-- Book Preface.
