Die Darstellung der Inhalte sollte sich dabei an den Bedürfnissen der Nutzenden sowie dem Nutzungskontext orientieren. Das Ziel dabei sei es, eine möglichst hohe Benutzerfreundlichkeit beziehungsweise Gebrauchstauglichkeit im Gestalten der Nutzeroberflächen zu erreichen. Diese Optimierung einer Webpräsenz bildet den Rahmen des vorliegenden Projekts. Der Relaunch der Website umfasst die Optimierung der Darstellung einer bestehenden Internetpräsenz in Bezug auf die Benutzerfreundlichkeit und setzt sich aus folgenden Teilaufgaben zusammen: 1. Ermitteln der spezifischen Nutzergruppen 2. Analyse des Ist-Zustandes unter deren Berücksichtigung 3. Optimierung der Website entsprechend der Nutzungsanforderungen 4. Darstellung zweier Varianten mit jeweils unterschiedlichen Schwerpunkten. Jede Variante soll drei Webpages in jeweils mobiler bzw. Desktopansicht responsiv darstellen 5. Planung und Durchführung des Projekts nach einem nutzerzentrierten Prozessmodell Zu Beginn des Projekts erfolgt eine Vorstellung des Auftraggebers beziehungsweise der hinsichtlich der Nutzungsgruppen und -bedürfnisse zu analysierenden und zu optimierenden Internetpräsenz. In der anschließenden Zeit- und Kostenplanung wird der Rahmen der zu erfolgenden Arbeitsschritte mithilfe von Meilensteinen und Arbeitspaketen sowie einer Drei-Punkt-Schätzung abgesteckt. Anschließend wird im Zuge einer Stakeholderanalyse ermittelt, welche Personen durch das Projekt in welchem Ausmaß betroffen und einzubeziehen sind. Dies ermöglicht auch das Identifizieren potenziell unerkannter Teilaufträge und Projektwiderstände. Bevor die eigentliche Optimierung der Webpräsenz vorgenommen werden kann, wird zunächst ein nutzerzentrierter Gestaltungsprozess initiiert, um Nutzergruppen und -bedürfnisse zu ermitteln. Dieser ermöglicht anschließend, eine Ist-Analyse der Website durchzuführen. Sie entstand parallel zu Abläufen auf den Ebenen Theorie, Konzeption, Empirie sowie Produktion. Ihre inhaltliche Unterteilung spiegelt diese Komplexe wider. „Was lest ihr denn da?“, fragte uns mal ein Sitznachbar wä̈hrend einer Vorlesung. Wir reichten ihm das dünne Heft im A5-Format herüber. „KeeX – was ist das? Muss ich das kennen?“ wollte er wissen, während er sichtlich gelangweilt durch die Seiten blätterte. Seine Miene erhellte sich kaum, als wir ihm erklärten, dass das ein Studentenmagazin sei, das wir selbst produziert hatten. „Respekt für das Engagement, aber eine Unicum ist euer KeeX noch lange nicht.“ Aussagen wie diese waren es, die uns nachdenken ließen, wie wir das Magazin verbessern könnten – waren wir uns der Mängel doch selbst bewusst. Ein so genannter Relaunch müsste die Lösung sein, überlegten wir weiter; eine ganzheitliche Neugestaltung des Hefts und seines Inhalts. Doch wie mussten wir dazu vorgehen? Schnell wurde uns klar, dass zu einem Relaunch mehr gehört, als Texte zu verbessern und mit dem Layoutprogramm QuarkXPress umzugehen. Wir brauchten einen konzeptionellen Überbau, eine Produktdefinition, mussten eine Zielgruppe festlegen und diese in der Neuordnungsprozess einbeziehen, ein Produktmuster erstellen, etc. Im ersten, theoretische Teil, bieten wir eine grundlegende Einführung zum Begriff Zeitschrift. Geschichtliche und ökonomische Aspekte kommen darin ebenso vor wie Abhandlungen zum Zeitschriftenlayout oder zur Typologie der Zeitschriften. Wir fokussieren schließlich auf die Gruppe der Studentenmagazine. Wie wir verfahren sind, um aus der KeeX ein besseres Produkt zu machen, darüber gibt der zweite große Abschnitt Auskunft. Der von uns zusammengestellte Ablaufplan für einen Relaunch sollte sich auf andere Zeitschriften übertragen lassen. Die Arbeit gipfelt in einem großen Empirieteil.
