Elements of Probability Theory presents the methods of the theory of probability. This book is divided into seven chapters that discuss the general rule for the multiplication of probabilities, the fundamental properties of the subject matter, and the classical definition of probability. The introductory chapters deal with the functions of random variables; continuous random variables; numerical characteristics of probability distributions; center of the probability distribution of a random variable; definition of the law of large numbers; stability of the sample mean and the method of moments; and Chebyshev's theorem. The next chapters consider the limit theorem of de Moivre-Laplace and the solution of two fundamental problems in the theory of errors. The discussion then shifts to the best linear approximation to the regression function. The concluding chapters look into the central limit theorem of Lyapunov and the significance of the value of the coefficient of correlation. The book can provide useful information to the statisticians, students, and researchers.

Random Variables And Probability Distributions written by H. Cramer and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2004-06-03 with Mathematics categories.

This tract develops the purely mathematical side of the theory of probability, without reference to any applications. When originally published, it was one of the earliest works in the field built on the axiomatic foundations introduced by A. Kolmogoroff in his book Grundbegriffe der Wahrscheinlichkeitsrechnung, thus treating the subject as a branch of the theory of completely additive set functions. The author restricts himself to a consideration of probability distributions in spaces of a finite number of dimensions, and to problems connected with the Central Limit Theorem and some of its generalizations and modifications. In this edition the chapter on Liapounoff's theorem has been partly rewritten, and now includes a proof of the important inequality due to Berry and Esseen. The terminology has been modernized, and several minor changes have been made.

Probability Distributions Used In Reliability Engineering written by Andrew N O'Connor and has been published by RIAC this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011 with Mathematics categories.

The book provides details on 22 probability distributions. Each distribution section provides a graphical visualization and formulas for distribution parameters, along with distribution formulas. Common statistics such as moments and percentile formulas are followed by likelihood functions and in many cases the derivation of maximum likelihood estimates. Bayesian non-informative and conjugate priors are provided followed by a discussion on the distribution characteristics and applications in reliability engineering.

"Exploring Probability and Random Processes Using MATLAB®" offers a comprehensive guide to probability theory, stochastic processes, and their practical applications, focusing on intuitive understanding and MATLAB implementation. This book provides readers with a solid foundation in probability and stochastic processes while equipping them with tools and techniques for real-world scenarios. We begin with an introduction to probability theory, covering random variables, probability distributions, and statistical measures. Readers learn how to analyze and interpret uncertainty, make probabilistic predictions, and understand statistical inference principles. Moving on to stochastic processes, we explore discrete-time and continuous-time processes, Markov chains, and other key concepts. Practical examples and MATLAB code snippets illustrate essential concepts and demonstrate their implementation in MATLAB. One distinguishing feature is the emphasis on intuitive understanding and practical application. Complex mathematical concepts are explained clearly and accessibly, making the material approachable for readers with varying mathematical backgrounds. MATLAB examples provide hands-on experience and develop proficiency in using MATLAB for probability and stochastic processes analysis. Whether you're a student building a foundation in probability theory and stochastic processes, a researcher seeking practical data analysis tools, or a practitioner in engineering or finance, this book will provide the knowledge and skills needed to succeed. With a blend of theoretical insights and practical applications, "Exploring Probability and Random Processes Using MATLAB®" is an invaluable resource.
