Part II, Political Relations among Governments, is concerned with politics at two different levels: relations among political systems (international politics) and within systems (national, state, and local politics). Par III, Political Behavior and Political Functions, offers detailed description and analysis of the most important institutions and processes of government. A final section, Political Theory and Political Analysis, considers the language and methods of political inquiry, as well as ideologies and political doctrines. This book had its inception when all the authors were teaching in the introductory course at Vanderbilt University.
