Multivariate Analysis And Machine Learning Techniques written by Srikrishnan Sundararajan and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2025-05-29 with Computers categories.

This book offers a comprehensive first-level introduction to data analytics. The book covers multivariate analysis, AI / ML, and other computational techniques for solving data analytics problems using Python. The topics covered include (a) a working introduction to programming with Python for data analytics, (b) an overview of statistical techniques – probability and statistics, hypothesis testing, correlation and regression, factor analysis, classification (logistic regression, linear discriminant analysis, decision tree, support vector machines, and other methods), various clustering techniques, and survival analysis, (c) introduction to general computational techniques such as market basket analysis, and social network analysis, and (d) machine learning and deep learning. Many academic textbooks are available for teaching statistical applications using R, SAS, and SPSS. However, there is a dearth of textbooks that provide a comprehensiveintroduction to the emerging and powerful Python ecosystem, which is pervasive in data science and machine learning applications. The book offers a judicious mix of theory and practice, reinforced by over 100 tutorials coded in the Python programming language. The book provides worked-out examples that conceptualize real-world problems using data curated from public domain datasets. It is designed to benefit any data science aspirant, who has a basic (higher secondary school level) understanding of programming and statistics. The book may be used by analytics students for courses on statistics, multivariate analysis, machine learning, deep learning, data mining, and business analytics. It can be also used as a reference book by data analytics professionals.

This book is more than just a book – it is a full course designed as an interactive guide for beginners in multivariate analysis. Combining theoretical videos with practical examples in R, it offers readers a unique blend of theory, practice, and application in biology and medicine. In an era where data-driven insights shape every field, mastering multivariate statistics and machine learning techniques has never been more essential. Each chapter links directly to videos, which explain the theoretical foundations of the statistical or machine learning methods in a basic way. Following each video, readers will find R code that replicates the analyses presented in the videos, empowering them to see real-world applications in action. Many exercises are included, allowing the readers to test their understanding of each concept through hands-on practice. The book covers a comprehensive range of essential topics in multivariate statistics and machine learning, including fundamentals of matrix operations, multivariate plotting, and correlation, as well as methods for multivariate data analysis such as multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA), principal component analysis (PCA), clustering, decision trees, discriminant analysis, random forest, partial least squares (PLS), canonical correlation analysis (CCA) and survival analysis. It also includes two case studies that reproduce the multivariate analyses in two scientific papers related to drug discovery and biomarker identification. By integrating videos with practical coding examples, this text makes complex topics accessible for beginners. The interactive learning approach ensures that readers not only grasp the statistical theories and machine learning concepts but also gain the confidence to apply them effectively in real-world scenarios.

Increasing interest in the development and validation of quantitative imaging biomarkers for oncologic imaging has in recent years inspired a surge in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning. Initial results showed promise in identifying potential markers of treatment response, malignant potential, and prognostic predictors, among others; however, while many of these early algorithms showed the optimistic ability to separate pathologic states on “in-house” datasets, it was often the case that these classifiers generalized poorly on external validation sets and thus were of limited utility in the clinical setting. This issue was additionally compounded by the frequent use of data filtering and feature selection techniques in many studies to further bolster the machine learning results in limited case scenarios, thereby biasing the overall fit and further reducing generalizability.

In times of uncertainty and crisis, the mental health of individuals become a concern as added stressors and pressures can cause depression, anxiety, and stress. Today, especially with more people than ever experiencing these effects due to the Covid-19 epidemic and all that comes along with it, discourse around mental health has gained heightened urgency. While there have always been stigmas surrounding mental health, the continued display of these biases can add to an already distressing situation for struggling individuals. Despite the experience of mental health issues becoming normalized, it remains important for these issues to be addressed along with adequate education about mental health so that it becomes normalized and discussed in ways that are beneficial for society and those affected. Along with raising awareness of mental health in general, there should be a continued focus on treatment options, methods, and modes for healthcare delivery. The Research Anthology on Mental Health Stigma, Education, and Treatment explores the latest research on the newest advancements in mental health, best practices and new research on treatment, and the need for education and awareness to mitigate the stigma that surrounds discussions on mental health. The chapters will cover new technologies that are impacting delivery modes for treatment, the latest methods and models for treatment options, how education on mental health is delivered and developed, and how mental health is viewed and discussed. It is a comprehensive view of mental health from both a societal and medical standpoint and examines mental health issues in children and adults from all ethnicities and socio-economic backgrounds and in a variety of professions, including healthcare, emergency services, and the military. This book is ideal for psychologists, therapists, psychiatrists, counsellors, religious leaders, mental health support agencies and organizations, medical professionals, teachers, researchers, students, academicians, mental health practitioners, and more.
