Exploring Productivity And Internal Communication Strategy For Project Management written by Josephine Dorazio-Giardina and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023 with Communication in organizations categories.

This qualitative case study addressed the lack of productivity due to people using 85% of their work day to collaborate with coworkers about projects and tasks (Cross et al., 2021). There was not a significant amount of information available that covered internal communication strategy, project management, productivity, and leadership support. During several semi-structured interviews with employees at IT organizations, the researcher gathered data to understand how employee productivity can be improved through the implementation of an internal communication strategy for project management. Additionally, a focus group of interview participants was completed to ensure triangulation of data. Themes found for why the way organizations communicate result in lower productivity were training, human error, and transparency. Productivity could be improved, given the need for the current level of communication with centralized information, leveraging current technology, and pre-project communication. Employees believed the most significant factors for the implementation of an internal communication strategy for improved employee productivity were communication consistency, leadership, and piloting and integration. The interview participants determined that they were not necessarily excited about changes within the organizational internal communication strategy as it pertained to projects. Many believed there was nothing wrong with the current processes at the organization, even if improvements could be made in some way. Interviews led to there being an understanding that internal communication strategies for projects could improve productivity, but centralized information, training, and communication consistency.
