'Political Messaging in Music and Entertainment Spaces across the Globe' uniquely expands the frontiers of political communication by simultaneously focusing on content (political messaging) and platform (music and entertainment). As a compendium of valuable research work, it provides rich insights into the construction of political messages and their dissemination outside of the traditional and mainstream structural, process and behavioral research focus in the discipline. Researchers, teachers, students and other interested parties in political communication, political science, journalism and mass communication, sociology, music, languages, linguistics and the performing arts, communication studies, law and history, will find this book refreshingly handy in their inquiry. Furthermore, this book was conceptualized from a globalist purview and offers readers practical insights into how political messaging through music and entertainment spaces actually work across nation-states, regions and continents. Its authenticity is also further enhanced by the fact that most chapter contributors are scholars who are natives of their areas of study, and who painstakingly situate their work in appropriate historical contexts.

The Prodigal Son written by David Swartz and has been published by iUniverse this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006-03 with Fiction categories.

The Prodigal Son is a trilogy of dramas, ambitious as Sophocles', each of its own the first since Milton's "Samson" to attempt the scale and evocative power of ancient myth. The Prodigal Son, the first, restates the Biblical parable in starkly contemporary fashion-the prodigal, having dissipated seven years, now diseased and the lone attendant in a house of prostitution, attempts passage into his father's heart through a substitute, Komos, who possesses the youth and beauty he has squandered. "Esther", the second, enacts the Old Testament story with a geriatric Ahasuerus, King of Persia, and an Esther, Queen, heavy with child by Haman, the very soul who has condemned her race to death. "Gethsemane", the third, captures the agony in the Garden, an all too cynical eleven disciples, and a Judas, the Twelfth, whose betrayal of his Master is couched in peculiar regret. The Guard in Command-"These friends of yours are hardly bold./Strange as it might be/I'd trade your Judas for the pack of them./Woman that he was/he had the strength to betray you."

This book provides detailed data and information about the cereals and cereal products that are affected by mycotoxins, and gives a basic overview of mycotoxins in these foodstuffs.Mycotoxin contamination of food occurs as a result of crop invasion by field fungi such as Fusarium spp. and Alternaria spp., or storage fungi such as Aspergillus spp. and Penicillium spp., which can grow on/in stored commodities and are able to produce mycotoxins. In the worst case, these fungi produce secondary metabolites called mycotoxins, which can be very harmful to humans and animals when, for example, they are consumed through food due to their various negative effects on several organs in both humans and animals. Mycotoxins in Plants and Plant Products: Cereals and Cereal Products lists the predisposition of a foodstuff for mycotoxin contamination, as well as the degree of contamination, concentration, and country of detection/origin for each case of mycotoxin contamination of this kind of foodstuff. It includes both alphabetical and numerical lists of literature.

Au Naturel written by Lara Anderson and has been published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010-03-08 with Performing Arts categories.

Literary naturalism, within the Hispanic context, has traditionally been read as a graphic realist school or movement linked predominantly to late nineteenth century literary production. The essays in Au Naturel: (Re)Reading Hispanic Naturalism—written by scholars from different generations, nationalities and ideological backgrounds—propose a major revisionist contribution to the study of Hispanic naturalism. Based on a theoretical proposal that re-semanticizes naturalismo as a diachronic counter-metanarrative phenomenon that transcends the chronological and geographic limitations imposed by traditional criticism on naturalism, the collection provides new readings of traditional naturalist fare as well as re-readings of works that have not been read, within the bounds of conventional criticism, as naturalist. Re-read within the proposed theoretical framework, its essays demonstrate the countless ways in which Hispanic naturalist texts–literary and more recently, filmic—continue to frankly engage the societal problematics that has impeded true social, political, economic and cultural progress from taking place in the Hispanic world from the turbulent fin-de-siècle period of the nineteenth century through the present day, globalized context. Au Naturel: (Re)Reading Hispanic Naturalism is thus also an open invitation to the scholarly community to re-consider other socio-critical works within the Hispanic naturalist context that observe and reflection upon social issues that continue to plague Hispanic society today.

Crime fiction has become a key element in Latin American literature. The rise in production of the genre can be explained by an urgency to explore issues of morality in societies which incorporate varying levels of censorship and corruption. Through a focus on the concept of the crime scene itself, this book identifies and interrogates some of the principal developments in contemporary Latin American crime fiction. In ten chapters which cover Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Mexico and Venezuela, and generic diversity which spans police procedurals, narcoliteratura, postmodern detection, and historical portrayals of crimes, the authors investigate how the crime scene - which has always been central to the genre and its subgenres - critiques local and global issues, including social injustice, discrimination, neoliberalism, violence, identity, corruption, and memory.
