Background: The new ICD-11 system provides 5 traits domains of personality disorders; (i) negative affectivity, (ii) anankastia, (iii) detachment, (iv) dissociality, and (v) disinhibition.Materials and Methods: Initial items related to 5 domains were derived from relevant traits of Personality Assessment Schedule. In study 1, the instrument was developed iteratively using data from community samples (total n=409). In study 2, PAS-Q ICD-11 was administered to community samples with personality disorder and treatment seeking psychiatric patients (total n=210) to examine validity of the scale and applied to examine social functioning. Results and Conclusions: Cronbachu2019s alpha values were .84 for total and .65 ~ .90 for 5 domains of PAS-Q ICD-11. PAS-Q ICD-11 proved to be correlated with normal and abnormal personality. We also presented the items related to Borderline features. The people with higher scores across domains had more social functioning impairment than those with lower scores. Conclusions: We developed a self-rating instrument corresponding to 5 traits domain model to help users assess the ICD-11 domains quick and easily.

Drawn from a planning conference for DSM-V, Dimensional Models of Personality Disorders opens with a presentation of 18 proposals for dimensional approaches and proceeds with provocative contributions on a number of related issues ranging from hard science to clinical practice. The topics covered include molecular genetic research, neurobiological dimensional models of personality, and broad-spectrum developmental antecedents of adult personality disorders. In considering such a major revision to the DSM, the volume addresses not only the separation of clinical and personality disorders across Axes I and II but also the challenges of coverage and cutoffs that must be addressed if dimensional models are to be considered as viable alternatives to categorical diagnosis.
