Gauge Fields Knots And Gravity written by John C Baez and has been published by World Scientific Publishing Company this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1994-10-24 with Science categories.

This is an introduction to the basic tools of mathematics needed to understand the relation between knot theory and quantum gravity. The book begins with a rapid course on manifolds and differential forms, emphasizing how these provide a proper language for formulating Maxwell's equations on arbitrary spacetimes. The authors then introduce vector bundles, connections and curvature in order to generalize Maxwell theory to the Yang-Mills equations. The relation of gauge theory to the newly discovered knot invariants such as the Jones polynomial is sketched. Riemannian geometry is then introduced in order to describe Einstein's equations of general relativity and show how an attempt to quantize gravity leads to interesting applications of knot theory.

Knots And Quantum Gravity written by John C. Baez and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1994 with Mathematics categories.

This book is the first title in a new series from Oxford University Press; a series designed to make the most recent applied mathematics research more easily accessible to all professionals, postgraduates, and researchers pursuing a specific line of investigation. Recent work by mathematicians and physicists has uncovered surprising connections between knot theory and the problem of developing a quantum theory of gravity. This volume is the proceedings of a workshop held at the University of California at Riverside attended by many experts in this exciting area of research. The purpose of the workshop was to bring together researchers in knot theory and quantum gravity and form more bridges between the two subjects. Most of the talks were given by researchers whose work has significance for both subjects. This volume contains expository papers as well as new results, and should serve as a guide for mathematicians and physicists seeking to understand this rapidly developing area of research.

Dynamics Of Conservative Surfaces Diffeomorphisms written by Sylvain Crovisier and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006 with Deformations (Mechanics) categories.

This volume deals with the dynamics of area-preserving surface diffeomorphisms. In dimension 2, some specific mathematical tools are available. In addition, the authors present several approaches and some applications. In particular, they try to show how the geometrical theory of dynamical systems, the group theory, the hydrodynamics and the plane topology interact.

Non Relativistic Quantum Theory written by Kai Shue Lam and has been published by World Scientific Publishing Company this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2009 with Science categories.

This textbook is mainly for physics students at the advanced undergraduate and beginning graduate levels, especially those with a theoretical inclination. Its chief purpose is to give a systematic introduction to the main ingredients of the fundamentals of quantum theory, with special emphasis on those aspects of group theory (spacetime and permutational symmetries and group representations) and differential geometry (geometrical phases, topological quantum numbers, and Chern-Simons Theory) that are relevant in modern developments of the subject. It will provide students with an overview of key elements of the theory, as well as a solid preparation in calculational techniques.
