Describes some of the expert systems being developed for applications in the telecommunications field--capturing the knowledge and professional experience of the telecommunications experts. Written by leading authorities in expert systems applications, the book addresses: network and spectrum management, local area networks, configuration; monitoring and control, and scheduling of satellite experimenter requests. Material is logically divided according to three issues. Part 1 deals with case studies where expert systems have been developed for telecommunications. The second section discusses methodologies that could be used specifically for building telecommunications. The third part deals with potential areas in telecommunications for applications in expert system development.

Handbook Of Expert Systems Applications In Manufacturing Structures And Rules written by A. Mital and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-03-08 with Science categories.

This book is aimed at both researchers and practitioners, and provides a collection of expert systems in manufacturing and production engineering along with their knowledge base and rules. We believe that inclusion of the knowledge base and associated rules is essential if practitioners are to derive full benefit from these expert systems. This unique book is the result of our belief and the efforts of our distinguished colleagues who subscribe to this philosophy. A total of 15 different expert systems are included in this book. These expert systems are preceded by an introductory chapter written by Kuo, Preface XVll Mital and Anand. The expert system rules are included on a floppy disk in ASCII and can be easily accessed. These rules and the description of the expert system's structure should assist the usersin customizing these systems. Overall, the expert systems included in this volume cover a fairly wide variety of manufacturing and production engineering topics.

Use and development of database and expert systems can be found in all fields of computer science. The aim of this book is to present a large spectrum of already implemented or just being developed database and expert systems. Contributions cover new requirements, concepts for implementations (e.g. languages, models, storage structures), management of meta data, system architectures, and experiences gained by using traditional databases in as many areas of applications as possibble (at least in the fields listed). The aim of the book is to inspire a fruitful dialogue between developement in practice, users of database and expert systems, and scientists working in the field.

Expert System Applications written by Leonard Bolc and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-12-06 with Computers categories.

While expert systems technology originated in the United States, its development has become an international concern. Since the start of the DENDRAL project at Stanford University over 15 years ago, with its objective of problem-solving via the automation of actual human expert knowledge, significant expert systems projects have been completed in countries rang ing from Japan to France, Spain to China. This book presents a sample of five such projects, along with four substantial reports of mature studies from North American researchers. Two important issues of expert system design permeate the papers in this volume. The first concerns the incorporation of substantial numeric knowledge into a system. This has become a significant focus of work as researchers have sought to apply expert systems tech nology to complex, real-world domains already subject to statistical or algebraic description (and handled well at some level in numeric terms). A second prominent issue is that of representing control knowledge in a manner which is both explicit, and thus available for inspection, and compatible with the semantics of the problem domain.

This volume demonstrates how chemical problems can be solved through the use of expert systems, programs that attempt to solve problems the same way a human expert would. Its 18 chapters offer a discussion of advanced prototypes and how they were constructed, along with a wide range of expert systems that are being used to solve chemical problems. Three main sections cover general chemical applications, industrial applications, and analytical chemistry applications. Of special interest is a brief glossary in the first chapter that aids in reading the rest of the book.
