Distributed Intelligent Systems: A Coordination Perspective comprehensively answers commonly asked questions about coordination in agent-oriented distributed systems. Characterizing the state-of-the-art research in the field of coordination with regard to the development of distributed agent-oriented systems is a particularly complex endeavour; while existing books deal with specific aspects of coordination, the major contribution of this book lies in the attempt to provide an in-depth review covering a wide range of issues regarding multi-agent coordination in Distributed Artificial Intelligence. Key features: Unveils the lack of coherence and order that characterizes the area of research pertaining to coordination of distributed intelligent systems Examines coordination models, frameworks, strategies and techniques to enable the development of distributed intelligent agent-oriented systems Provides specific recommendations to realize more widespread deployment of agent-based systems

Distributed Intelligence Systems For Device Integration And Control written by Kevin Thomas and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010 with Distributed artificial intelligence categories.

Over the last quarter of a century, society has moved towards an immersion into digital technology. Despite the sophistication of current technology, integration and interoperability between digital and even non-digital devices and equipment is not only an existing problem, but a growing one. The root cause is the conventional paradigm using highly centralised platforms for integration and operability. This thesis proposes an alternate approach for device control using a Distributed Intelligence System(DIS),presenting it as a viable alternative that enables entities to work together in an intelligent manner to achieve user-defined global and local system objectives. It integrates prior research efforts to develop hardware and software for a real-world DIS, to form a complete system architecture, and applying the same to a practical scenario of a simple security system. Additionally, it examines some of the practical challenges and obstacles experienced over the entire systems development cycle of developing a DIS.

The main objective of this book is to provide insights into recent advances in distributed intelligent circuits, systems and their applications. Distributed intelligence is the key enabler for innovations in machine-to-machine communications. The innovations are directed towards keeping existing algorithms as the base and developing new intelligent systems by employing smart technologies. Artificial intelligence (AI) and, more specifically, deep learning (DL) are receiving significant attention in assisting doctors in the detection of disease patterns without much human intervention. In agriculture, robots automate slow, repetitive and dull tasks, allowing farmers to focus more on improving overall production yields. The evolving trends point to the interface of artificial intelligence with machines being a factor in enhancing the decision-making capabilities of smart machines. This book provides relevant theoretical frameworks that include basic models, algorithms, circuit designs and the latest developments in experimental aspects in the field of distributed intelligence systems for industrial applications. The challenges encountered in the development of models for distributed intelligence systems for environmental monitoring are mitigated with artificial intelligence, machine learning and deep learning. This book identifies challenges and helps in applying solutions in the development of advanced intelligent systems for environmental monitoring.

In Distributed Intelligence Systems, holons collaborate to achieve local goals, and more importantly, system goals. Although present-day systems claim to be distributed intelligence systems, they lack the required intelligence needed to adapt to a dynamic network environment. The Holonic Logistics System (HLS) is a framework that facilitates the development of distributed intelligence systems in a peer-to-peer environment. With an infrastructure based completely on autonomous cooperating agents, the HLS is an example of a Distributed Intelligence System that incorporates the required intelligence into the framework. This thesis discusses the design and implementation of the HLS.
