Discrete Algebraic Methods written by Volker Diekert and has been published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-05-24 with Mathematics categories.

The idea behind this book is to provide the mathematical foundations for assessing modern developments in the Information Age. It deepens and complements the basic concepts, but it also considers instructive and more advanced topics. The treatise starts with a general chapter on algebraic structures; this part provides all the necessary knowledge for the rest of the book. The next chapter gives a concise overview of cryptography. Chapter 3 on number theoretic algorithms is important for developping cryptosystems, Chapter 4 presents the deterministic primality test of Agrawal, Kayal, and Saxena. The account to elliptic curves again focuses on cryptographic applications and algorithms. With combinatorics on words and automata theory, the reader is introduced to two areas of theoretical computer science where semigroups play a fundamental role. The last chapter is devoted to combinatorial group theory and its connections to automata. Contents: Algebraic structures Cryptography Number theoretic algorithms Polynomial time primality test Elliptic curves Combinatorics on words Automata Discrete infinite groups

A reprint collection of practical papers covering the broad scope of numerical linear algebra in computer-aided control system design software. Between the 35-page introduction and extensive 21-page bibliography, are seven sections: general numerical issues in control; controllability, observability, and realizations; "closeness" problems; frequency response, transfer functions, poles, and zeros; pole assignment and observer design; Riccati, Lyapunov, and Sylvester equations; and some relevant results from numerical linear algebra. Computational Techniques For Fluid Dynamics 1 written by Clive Fletcher and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1988-10-13 with Science categories.

The purpose of this two-volume textbook is to provide students of engineer ing, science and applied mathematics with the specific techniques, and the framework to develop skill in using them, that have proven effective in the various branches of computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Volume 1 de scribes both fundamental and general techniques that are relevant to all branches of fluid flow. Volume 2 provides specific techniques, applicable to the different categories of engineering flow behaviour, many of which are also appropriate to convective heat transfer. An underlying theme of the text ist that the competing formulations which are suitable for computational fluid dynamics, e.g. the finite differ ence, finite element, finite volume and spectral methods, are closely related and can be interpreted as part of a unified structure. Classroom experience indicates that this approach assists, considerably, the student in acquiring a deeper understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the alternative computational methods. Through the provision of 24 computer programs and associated exam ples and problems, the present text is also suitable for established research workers and practitioners who wish to acquire computational skills without the benefit of formal instruction. The text includes the most up-to-date techniques and is supported by more than 300 figures and 500 references.

This book starts with an overview of the research of Gröbner bases which have many applications in various areas of mathematics since they are a general tool for the investigation of polynomial systems. The next chapter describes algorithms in invariant theory including many examples and time tables. These techniques are applied in the chapters on symmetric bifurcation theory and equivariant dynamics. This combination of different areas of mathematics will be interesting to researchers in computational algebra and/or dynamics.
