"Cy-Borges provides radically new, "posthumanist" readings of such established Borgesian fictions as "The Aleph," "The Library of Babel," "Funes the Memorious," "The Garden of Forking Paths," and "The Circular Ruins." They will be equally illuminating to readers of Hispanic and world literature, as to students of critical and cultural theory, and anybody who is fascinated with the idea of the "posthuman" and "posthumanism.""--BOOK JACKET.

Textuality is the condition in which a text is created, edited, archived, published, disseminated, and consumed. “Texts,” therefore, encompass a broad variety of artifacts: traditional printed matter such as grammar books and newspaper articles; phonographs; graphic novels; ephemera such as fashion illustrations, catalogs, and postcards; and even virtual databases and cataloging systems.\ Latin American Textualities is a wide-ranging, interdisciplinary look at textual history, textual artifacts, and digital textualities across Latin America from the colonial era to the present. Editors Heather J. Allen and Andrew R. Reynolds gather a wide range of scholars to investigate the region’s textual scholarship. Contributors offer engaging examples of not just artifacts but also the contexts in which the texts are used. Topics include Guamán Poma’s library, the effect of sound recordings on writing in Argentina, Sudamericana Publishing House’s contribution to the Latin American literary boom, and Argentine science fiction. Latin American Textualities provides new paths to reading Latin American history, culture, and literatures. Contributors: Heather J. Latin American Digital Poetics written by Scott Weintraub and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-09-23 with Social Science categories.
Latin American Digital Poetics seeks to take the pulse of emergent poetic forms whose history is entangled with the computational and its AI dreams and achievements. This study carefully and thoroughly probes the intersection between the literary, the cultural, and the scientific-technological in order to reflect on the ways that digital technology has radically reshaped and reconfigured nearly all aspects of contemporary culture. The main idea of this book, then, is simple: by way of panoramic approaches to digital poetry as well as select case studies, we seek to account for the multi-directional exchange between poetry, technology, and culture via a (primarily) pedagogical approach.

Tar For Mortar written by Jonathan Basile and has been published by punctum books this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018 with Literary Criticism categories.
TAR FOR MORTAR offers an in-depth exploration of one of literature's greatest tricksters, Jorge Luis Borges. His short story "The Library of Babel" is a signature examplar of this playfulness, though not merely for the inverted world it imagines, where a library thought to contain all possible permutations of all letters and words and books is plumbed by pious librarians looking for divinely pre-fabricated truths. One must grapple as well with the irony of Borges's narration, which undermines at every turn its narrator's claims of the library's universality, including the very possibility of exhausting meaning through combinatory processing. Borges directed readers to his non-fiction to discover the true author of the idea of the universal library. But his supposedly historical essays are notoriously riddled with false references and self-contradictions. Whether in truth or in fiction, Borges never reaches a stable conclusion about the atomic premises of the universal library - is it possible to find a character set capable of expressing all possible meaning, or do these letters, like his stories and essays, divide from themselves in a restless incompletion? While many readers of Borges see him as presaging our digital technologies, they often give too much credit to our inventions in doing so. Those who elide the necessary incompletion of the Library of Babel compare it to the Internet on the assumption that both are total archives of all possible thought and expression. Though Borges's imaginings lend themselves to digital creativity (libraryofbabel.info is certainly evidence of this), they do so by showing the necessary incompleteness of every totalizing project, no matter how technologically refined. Ultimately, Basile nudges readers toward the idea that a fictional/imaginary exposition can hold a certain power over technology.
