Get up and running with serverless workloads across AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, and virtual machines with real-life examples and best practices for design, development, and security of serverless applications Purchase of the print or Kindle book includes a free PDF eBook Key Features Learn with DIY projects and step-by-step instructions for different serverless technologies and vendors Explore detailed sections on running serverless workloads across Kubernetes and virtual machines Discover Cloudflare Serverless Solutions to modernize your web applications Book Description Serverless computing has emerged as a mainstream paradigm in both cloud and on-premises computing, with AWS Lambda playing a pivotal role in shaping the Function-as-a-Service (FaaS) landscape. However, with the explosion of serverless technologies and vendors, it has become increasingly challenging to comprehend the foundational services and their offerings. Architecting Cloud Native Serverless Solutions lays a strong foundation for understanding the serverless landscape and technologies in a vendor-agnostic manner. You'll learn how to select the appropriate cloud vendors and technologies based on your specific needs. In addition, you'll dive deep into the serverless services across AWS, GCP, Azure, and Cloudflare followed by open source serverless tools such as Knative, OpenFaaS, and OpenWhisk, along with examples. You'll explore serverless solutions on Kubernetes that can be deployed on both cloud-hosted clusters and on-premises environments, with real-world use cases. Furthermore, you'll explore development frameworks, DevOps approaches, best practices, security considerations, and design principles associated with serverless computing. By the end of this serverless book, you'll be well equipped to solve your business problems by using the appropriate serverless vendors and technologies to build efficient and cost-effective serverless systems independently. What you will learn Understand the serverless landscape and its potential Build serverless solutions across AWS, Azure, and GCP Develop and run serverless applications on Kubernetes Implement open source FaaS with Knative, OpenFaaS, and OpenWhisk Modernize web architecture with Cloudflare Serverless Discover popular serverless frameworks and DevOps for serverless Explore software design and serverless architecture patterns Acquire an understanding of serverless development and security best practices Who this book is for This book is for DevOps, platform, cloud, site reliability engineers, or application developers looking to build serverless solutions. "The technical report presents Complex Event Processing, CEP is a fundamental new technology that will enable the next generation of middleware based distributed applications. CEP gains information on distributed systems and uses this knowledge for monitoring, failure analysis or prediction of activities. A very promising route in CEP research is that of Event Processing Networks, which is one of the main areas of research of the Program and Analysis Group at Stanford University. Event Processing Networks are one way of describing and building CEP, by successively filtering meaningful information and aggregating the corresponding events into higher levels of abstraction. This report describes in detail the foundations and aims of Complex Event Processing. Then we will introduce the concept of Event Processing. Finally, we will describe the architecture of the CEP system."--Abstract.

Academic Paper from the year 2024 in the subject Computer Sciences - Internet of Things, IOT, grade: A, Free University of Berlin (The National Institute of Engineering, Mysore), course: Ph.D, language: English, abstract: The key objectives defined in this thesis are given as follows: To analyse the different security breaches in the IoT Ecosystem. To develop a lightweight cryptographic scheme for secured Authentication in IoT. To develop a multilevel security model by using Enhanced Cryptosystem for secured Authentication in IoT. To ensure reliable and secure communication and access across multiple co-operatively communicating devices in IoT ecosystems ensuring optimal security and authentication system is must. Though, IoT demands ensuring security and authentication for both “device level security” and “data security under communication”. Noticeably, the device level security addresses attack resilience from any unwanted or unexpected intruder by applying certain authentication variables or key agreement policies. However, in the last few years, the events pertaining to smart card loss attack (SCLA), Brute-Force attack, impersonation attack, data sniffing attack etc., have questioned major at-hand security solutions. The irony is, in the majority of IoT systems, the access information or the key agreement information is saved or preserved onto the local memory, which often broadens the horizon for data loss, or attack. In such classical approaches the possibility of SCLA, Impersonation and Brute-force attack can’t be neglected. And therefore, ensuring both system level access authentication is inevitable. In other words, strengthening data security in IoT systems is equally significant like device level security and authentication. Once system considers both data level security as well as device level authentication system retaining quality of content and hardware efficiency becomes equally inevitable. On the other hand, maintaining efficacy of the security system with higher authentication correctness amongst the gateways and communication devices is must. It demands a collaborative low-cost or lightweight security model to enable security while maintaining IoT- expectations like low-computation, lightweight computation, low-power consumption, better data quality, attack resilience and fast in response. It can be considered as the key driving force behind this research.
