Dr. Robert Langs collects the most important and creative work ever published on how to do psychotherapy and psychoanalysis in Classics in Psychoanalytic Technique. Practioners should base their studies upon. This revised edition builds upon his previous volume of works, The Therapeutic Interaction, as well as extended the critiques that were included in the earlier book. The book is grouped into subject matters, and then arranged chronologically within each category, so as to provide a sense of growth in psychoanalytic thinking. Beginning with Freud's intrapsychic foundation and oedipal emphasis and spanning all the way to recent contributions. Included are the works of Winncott, the Kleinians, and Greenson, just to name a few. Dr. Langs concludes the volume with a paper of his own addressing the question of the whether the writings constitute a solid foundation or a façade. In any field growth and change are important, yet one can never forget their humble beginnings. Which is why Classics in Psychoanalytic Technique is a tribute to those who struggled to advance the field of psychoanalysis.

The Ontology Of Psychology written by Linda A.W. Brakel and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-08-29 with Philosophy categories.
In this volume, Brakel raises questions about conventions in the study of mind in three disciplines—psychoanalysis, philosophy of mind, and experimental philosophy. She illuminates new understandings of the mind through interdisciplinary challenges to views long-accepted. Here she proposes a view of psychoanalysis as a treatment that owes its successes largely to its biological nature—biological in its capacity to best approximate the extinction of problems arising owing to aversive conditioning. She also discusses whether or not "the mental" can have any real ontological standing, arguing that a form of reductive physicalism can be sufficient ontologically, but that epistemological considerations require a branch of non-reductive physicalism. She then notes the positive implications of this view for psychiatry and psychoanalysis, Finally, she investigates the role of "consistency" in method and content, toward which experimental philosophers strive. In essence, Brakel articulates the different sets of challenges pertaining to: a) ancient dilemmas such as the mind/body problem; b) longstanding debates about the nature of therapeutic action in psychoanalysis; and c) new core questions arising in the relatively young discipline of experimental philosophy.

This extraordinary volume offers a sampling of Lewis Aron’s most important contributions to relational psychoanalysis. One of the founders of relational thinking, Aron was an internationally recognized psychoanalyst, sought after teacher, lecturer, and the Director of the New York University Postdoctoral Program in Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis. His pioneering work introduced and revolutionized the concepts of mutuality, the analyst’s subjectivity, and the paradigm of mutual vulnerability in the analytic setting. During the last few years of his life, Aron was exploring the ethical considerations of writing psychoanalytic case histories and the importance of self-reflection and skepticism not only for analysts with their patients, but also as a stance towards the field of psychoanalysis itself. Aron is known for his singular, highly compelling teaching and writing style and for an unparalleled ability to convey complex, often comparative theoretical concepts in a uniquely inviting and approachable way. The reader will encounter both seminal papers on the vision and method of contemporary clinical practice, as well as cutting edge newer writing from the years just before his death. Edited and with a foreword by Galit Atlas, each chapter is preceded by a new introduction by some of the most important thinkers in our field: Jessica Benjamin, Michael Eigen, Jay Greenberg, Adrienne Harris, Stephen Hartman, Steven Kuchuck, Thomas Ogden, Joyce Slochower, Donnel Stern, Merav Roth, Chana Ullman, and Aron himself. This book will make an important addition to the libraries of experienced clinicians and psychoanalytic scholars already familiar with Aron’s work, as well as students, newer professionals or anyone seeking an introduction to relational psychoanalysis and one of its most stunning, vibrant voices.
