Cinema Quarterly was a quarterly film magazine published in Edinburgh between 1932 and 1935. With Forsyth Hardy at the helm as review editor, the magazine focused on art cinema and documentary. It regularly featured articles from writers such as Basil Wright, Stuart Legg, Alberto Cavalcanti and John Grierson, offering the first publication of some of Grierson s now seminal work on Documentary. In later years the magazine also included contributions from lauded literary figures such as T. S. Eliot and Aldous Huxley. The magazine continued after 1935 as World Film News and Television Progress but ceased publication in 1938 after only three issues of a new rebranding as SEE: World Film News.
