Building A Deductive Database written by Miguel Nussbaum and has been published by Intellect Books this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1992 with Computers categories.

This text illustrates the main issues and concepts behind deductive databases through the description of a real system. Both theory and practice combine to advance a pragmatic approach. The book covers all related topics from basic theory to its coupling with a known database management system and its implementation on a commerical multiprocessor. An overview describes the problems related to the field. In the introduction, basic tools and references to related work give the necessary background context. Chapter two slowly begins building the concepts that finally lead to the kern algorithm used throughout the book - mixed top-down, bottom-up computation. Upon completion of the book, the reader should be able to build a deductive database. Implementation problems are exposed and solved and new strategies and algorithms with their performance behaviour are presented. Additionally the reader should also learn the benefits and drawbacks of working with an existing database and the usefulness of a parallel machine.

Abstract: "An increasing number of deductive systems are now either available or becoming available (e.g., Aditi, CORAL, EKS, LDL, LOGRES, LOLA, NAIL-Glue, RDL, XSB). The workshop schedule features twelve papers describing a range of applications, and demo presentations of several implemented systems. The proceedings contain all presented papers, and short demo descriptions. The papers are in order of presentation, followed by demo descriptions; included are descriptions of two demos that are not on the presentation schedule."

Conceptual Modeling is used to create databases, appropriate across numerous applications areas, while still retaining ``custom'' qualities of the individual database. Contains original chapters written by leading international researchers in order to integrate Conceptual Modeling, Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) and database systems and present their combined impact on the development of new information systems. Features papers on Extensible Systems, Deductive Databases and Object-Oriented DBMS.

Knowledge Systems Design written by John K. Debenham and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1989 with Computers categories.

This is a book about the design of knowledge-based systems of prime interest to those organizations with a commitment to building up large, integrated, corporate knowledge bases. It is principally written for those who have an interest in building expert systems and deductive database systems. Debenham's method is to represent and analyze knowledge in a way that is independent of any particular expert system shell or computer language. This method extends from initial knowledge acquisition to knowledge base implementation and knowledge base maintenance. The text is illustrated with examples expressed in logic programming, a procedure adopted because it is both simple and widely understood comparative with other knowledge languages. While this book is not intended to be a complete account of expert systems or deductive databases, it will enable the knowledge-processing specialist to do a better and more systematic job.
