WILEY-INTERSCIENCE PAPERBACK SERIES The Wiley-Interscience Paperback Series consists of selected books that have been made more accessible to consumers in an effort to increase global appeal and general circulation. With these new unabridged softcover volumes, Wiley hopes to extend the lives of these works by making them available to future generations of statisticians, mathematicians, and scientists. "Many examples drawn from the author’s experience of engineering applications are used to illustrate the theoretical results, which are presented in a cookbook fashion...it provides an excellent practical guide to the analysis of product-life data." –T.M.M. Farley Special Programme of Research in Human Reproduction World Health Organization Geneva, Switzerland Review in Biometrics, September 1983 Now a classic, Applied Life Data Analysis has been widely used by thousands of engineers and industrial statisticians to obtain information from life data on consumer, industrial, and military products. Organized to serve practitioners, this book starts with basic models and simple informative probability plots of life data. Then it progresses through advanced analytical methods, including maximum likelihood fitting of advanced models to life data. All data analysis methods are illustrated with numerous clients' applications from the author's consulting experience.

Reliability Assessments written by Franklin Richard Nash, Ph.D. and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-07-12 with Business & Economics categories.
This book provides engineers and scientists with a single source introduction to the concepts, models, and case studies for making credible reliability assessments. It satisfies the need for thorough discussions of several fundamental subjects. Section I contains a comprehensive overview of assessing and assuring reliability that is followed by discussions of: • Concept of randomness and its relationship to chaos • Uses and limitations of the binomial and Poisson distributions • Relationship of the chi-square method and Poisson curves • Derivations and applications of the exponential, Weibull, and lognormal models • Examination of the human mortality bathtub curve as a template for components Section II introduces the case study modeling of failure data and is followed by analyses of: • 5 sets of ideal Weibull, lognormal, and normal failure data • 83 sets of actual (real) failure data The intent of the modeling was to find the best descriptions of the failures using statistical life models, principally the Weibull, lognormal, and normal models, for characterizing the failure probability distributions of the times-, cycles-, and miles-to-failure during laboratory or field testing. The statistical model providing the preferred characterization was determined empirically by choosing the two-parameter model that gave the best straight-line fit in the failure probability plots using a combination of visual inspection and three statistical goodness-of-fit (GoF) tests. This book offers practical insight in dealing with single item reliability and illustrates the use of reliability methods to solve industry problems.

Sequential Nonparametrics written by Pranab Kumar Sen and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1981-10-13 with Mathematics categories.
A thorough text on sequential nonparametrics, utilizing a unified martingale approach in the study of the invariance principles for nonparametric statistics. Contains formulations of sequential tests and estimators such as repeated significance and rank order tests. Shows how sequential confidence regions and asymptotically risk efficient point estimation procedures can be treated in a complete nonparametric set-up. Includes extensive bibliography.

Quality And Reliability Methods For Primary Batteries written by P. Bro and has been published by Wiley-Interscience this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1990-06-27 with Science categories.
The importance of primary batteries in today's world cannot be underestimated; so much of our daily lives revolves around the use of these devices from portable communication equipment, cameras and calculators to pagers and pacemakers. It has long been felt that a need exists for an exposition of the principles of battery reliability and their characteristics. This book, divided into three parts, fills that need. Part One is introductory, dealing with essential characteristics of primary batteries and the basic notions of reliability. Part Two offers both practical and theoretical discussions of the elementary principles of battery reliability, such as battery capacities and distribution functions and deterministic and stochastic models of reliability kinetics. Finally, Part Three explores the practical aspects of battery reliability.
