Innovative strategic management solutions for today's market Strategic Value Management addresses common problems among business managers and other professionals involved in thinking about developing and managing organizations. In it, author Juan Pablo Stegmann integrates all strategic management and business strategy into an innovative standard that introduces key metrics to strategic management and stock value creation. He argues that most complex business issues can be reduced to the three dimensions of stock value creation-profits, sales growth, and capital-that are linked to three critical strategic management decisions-competition, innovation, and resources. His new approach indicates that every strategy has a clear dollar metric, which can measure its consequences of the strategies in terms of stock value. Competitive and growth strategies are analyzed along with economic, financial, dynamic, and contingent approaches Includes a companion CD-ROM, which contains Stegmann's proven model for strategic management and stock value creation Ethical consequences of strategic decisions are introduced-showing how ethics are linked to long-term stock value creation Explains the roots of the current financial crisis by examining the link between the financial world and strategic management, and proposes possible solutions For any looking to enhance their understanding of this discipline, Strategic Value Management offers a new conceptual model for thinking about business strategy and its link to stock value creation.

Bachelor Thesis from the year 2019 in the subject Business economics - Review of Business Studies, grade: 1,0, University of applied Sciences Regensburg, language: English, abstract: This paper examines value creation by private equity-backed IPOs. It gives detailed insights on a mostly US-based research topic analyzing 134 German IPOs from 2002 to 2018, of which 49 were identified as PE-backed, and contributes empirical evidence on the discussion of private equity value creation. The empirical results provide detailed information on whether private equity financing can be a suitable financing source for companies by comparing and analyzing the performance differences between IPOs of companies with and without private equity sponsors. Furthermore, the paper provides empirical evidence on the IPO phenomena of underpricing and negative long-term performance for Germany, differentiating itself from former studies in terms of a broader time horizon and an extensive return calculation methodology. Since the locust swarms debate initiated by SPD politician Franz Müntefering, private equity investors have had to struggle with an extremely bad reputation in Germany. Unpopular measures such as company divestures or mass redundancies to achieve set turnover and return targets reinforce the negative image of financial investors. Accordingly, investor and business magnate Warren Buffet criticized that businesses under private equity control become a piece of merchandise. Nonetheless, the private equity industry continues to boom, reaching new records in terms of global business volume and transactions. Under these circumstances and new evolving discussions, it is essential to take a close look at the business model of private equity firms and to analyze potential short- and long-term value creation in their portfolio companies.

This book discusses social entrepreneurship, especially in context of India. It focuses on understanding the whole process of social value creation, i.e. social entrepreneurship - opportunity identification, resource mobilisation, social value, capabilities of social entrepreneurs and innovation in three different types of social enterprises – (i) non-profit or charitable ones; (ii) non-profit social enterprise, sustainable with the combined income of grants, subsidies and own earned income; self-sustainable not-for-profit social enterprise; and hybrid social enterprise; and (iii) for-profit social enterprises. Sample cases of social entrepreneurs (Ashoka Fellows) were selected from three inter-linked sectors -- health, education and livelihood. To provide a comprehensive view, interviews were taken not only from the founders (social entrepreneurs), management personnel, and other employees, but also from the beneficiaries. The book comprises how, on the basis of cross-comparison between three types of social enterprises, several propositions and finally theoretical framework on social entrepreneurship have been developed. It proposes that social entrepreneurship can be acquired and that these social entrepreneurs can help solve the larger social problems faced both by developing and developed nations.

The contemporary economic landscape features the prevalence of the service sector in economic systems, the pervasive servitisation of manufacturing, innovations in traditional business models and new value creation models, thanks to the new possibilities offered by the web, ICT and other enabling technologies. In this evolving context, this book provides qualified contributions on the topic of service science from a managerial perspective. A multidisciplinary perspective is adopted, dealing with both the structural–technological and dynamic–relational aspects of managing complexity. In addressing the contribution that service science can make to business value creation, this book covers relevant issues such as product servitisation, business modelling, value cocreation with customers, performance measures and the role of ICT. It also presents some innovative experiences of management models in service organisations operating in the environmental, energy and health-care sectors. This book aims to enhance the value of the results of research intertwined with the development of a new training curriculum started four years ago at the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna of Pisa (Italy) with the evolution of the "Master in Management of Innovation" into the new "Master in Management, Innovation and Service Engineering" (MAINS).

Responding to the rapidly changing business landscape (including advances in social media and information technology) and the COVID-19 pandemic where customers, visitors, or tourists have become more connected, accessible, and informed than ever before, many brands and firms are investing in brand management and brand co-creation. This new volume provides an enlightening perspective on brand co-creation, brand management, and branding through contemporary conceptual discussions and empirical research studies from thought leaders. Providing a step-by-step guide to the brand co-creation and branding process in the hospitality and tourism industry, the volume identifies cutting-edge measurements, strategies, and metrics for capturing and measuring brand co-creation and highlights best practices in implementing brand management marketing strategies. Starting with a basic understanding of brand (value) co-creation, the volume then explores deeper by defining the concept, describing the ways to measure it, and providing several strategies to capitalize on it. The authors emphasize the interrelationship of these concepts and how they manage brand co-creation. The book illustrates the concepts with examples from around the globe. Topics cover the impact of social media on brand co-creation during the COVID-19 outbreak in the tourism industry, co-branding emerging tourist destinations, analysis of the content of hotel websites, creating better customer value, brand co-creation in e-sports gaming events, post-COVID-19 educational tourism, and more. The volume also presents a chapter on the state-ofthe-art role of augmented reality and virtual reality in improving the customer experience. A synthesis of a decade-long effort in brand co-creation, the book will be valuable to academics, practitioners, consultants, destination management organizations (DMOs), and managers looking to improve brand co-creation pre-, during-, and post-pandemics.

Critical Issues In Tourism Co Creation written by Giang Thi Phi and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-07-05 with Business & Economics categories.

Co-creation is fast becoming a buzz word in tourism. Traditional approaches to value creation in tourism suggest that operators and suppliers produce goods and services which are consumed by tourists. The value produced is usually measured in economic terms. Co-creation challenges these assumptions, arguing that tourism producers and consumers co-create value together and that this value is more diverse than just economic value. Technologies underpinning social media, ratings and review tools and e-commerce are facilitating the creation of diverse values, and have been responsible for driving innovation in, for example, new business models such as the collaborative economy. Social, environmental, emotional, reputational and other kinds of value may also be produced, and a wide range of stakeholders, not just producers or consumers, might also benefit from the value co-creation process. This edited volume seeks to go beyond the dominant business/management/marketing perspectives that focus on the co-creation of market value and innovation, to excavate complex and critical episodes of co-creation in tourism. By engaging authors from both the academy and beyond, it explores the rich historical linage of co-creation and its contemporary practices. The chapters in this book were originally published in Tourism Recreation Research.
