The integrated meta-model for organizational resource audit is a consistent and comprehensive instrument for auditing intangible resources and their relations and associations from the network perspective. This book undertakes a critically important problem of management sciences, poorly recognized in literature although determining the current and future competitiveness of enterprises, sectors and economies. The author notes the need to introduce a theoretical input, which is manifested by the meta-model. An expression of this treatment is the inclusion of the network as a structure of activities, further knowledge as an activity, and intangible assets as intellectual capital characterized by a structure of connections. The case study presented is an illustration of the use of network analysis tools and other instruments to identify not only the most important resources, tasks or actors, as well as their effectiveness, but also to connect the identified networks with each other. The author opens the field for applying her methodology, revealing the structural and dynamic features of the intangible resources of the organization. The novelty of the proposed meta-model shows the way to in-depth applications of network analysis techniques in an intra-organizational environment. Organizational Network Analysis makes a significant contribution to the development of management sciences, in terms of strategic management and more strictly resource approach to the company through structural definition of knowledge; application of the concept of improvement-oriented audit abandoning a narrow understanding of this technique in terms of compliance; reliable presentation of audits available in the literature; rigorous reasoning leading to the development of a meta-model; close linking of knowledge and resources with the strategy at the design stage of the developed audit model, including the analysis of link dynamics and networks together with an extensive metrics proposal; an interesting illustration of the application with the use of metrics, tables and charts. It will be of value to researchers, academics, managers, and students in the fields of strategic management, organizational studies, social network analysis in management, knowledge management, and auditing knowledge resources in organizations.

Software-Defined Networks (SDN) work by virtualization of the network and the Cognitive Software-Defined Network (CSDN) combines the efficiencies of SDN with cognitive learning algorithms and enhanced protocols to automatize SDN. Partial deployment of SDN along with traditional networking devices forms a Hybrid Software-Defined Network (HSDN). Software-Defined Network Frameworks: Security Issues and Use Cases consolidates the research relating to the security in SDN, CSDN, and Hybrid SDNs. The security enhancements derived from the use of various SDN frameworks and the security challenges thus introduced, are also discussed. Overall, this book explains the different architectures of SDNs and the security challenges needed for implementing them. Features: Illustrates different frameworks of SDN and their security issues in a single volume Discusses design and assessment of efficient SDN northbound/southbound interfaces Describes cognitive computing, affective computing, machine learning, and other novel tools Illustrates coupling of SDN and traditional networking – Hybrid SDN Explores services, technologies, algorithms, and methods for data analysis in CSDN The book is aimed at researchers and graduate students in software engineering, network security, computer networks, high performance computing, communications engineering, and intelligent systems.

Today's rapidly changing technology offers increasingly complex challenges to the network administrator, MIS director and others who are responsible for the overall health of the network. This Network Maintenance and Troubleshooting Guide picks up where other network manuals and texts leave off. It addresses the areas of how to anticipate and prevent problems, how to solve problems, how to operate a healthy network and how to troubleshoot. Network Maintenance and Troubleshooting Guide also provides basic technical and troubleshooting information about cable testing, Ethernet and Token Ring networks and additional information about Novell's IPX(R) protocol and TCP/IP. Examples are shown as either diagrams and tables, or screen captures from Fluke instruments. Network professionals will appreciate the guide's "real world" orientation toward solving network crises quickly, by guiding readers to solutions for restoration of end to end data delivery as quickly as possible. The network novice will learn from the simplified descriptions about networking technology in the Appendices.

Centrality In Strategic Transportation Network Design written by Anne Lange and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-03-01 with Business & Economics categories.

Efficient and effective transportation networks are backbones to modern societies. Methodologically, their design has mainly been driven by optimization approaches oftentimes with a strong cost focus. Their strategic planning, however, should go beyond detailed cost analysis and identify other key decision drivers. Transportation network centrality describes the appearance of a network; hence is crucial for network design. Anne Paul develops a strategic approach to transportation network design by conceptualizing transportation network centrality and relating it to the performance and quality of transportation networks. Consequently, the concept of network centrality serves to support decisions in strategic network design. A practical implementation of this approach is provided, demonstrating its feasibility. Potential readers include scholars and practitioners from logistics, supply chain management, and operational researchwith an interest in strategic transportation network design.
