Whether it's to adhere to regulations, access markets by meeting specific standards, or devise data analytics and AI strategies, companies today are busy implementing metadata repositories—metadata tools about the IT, data, information, and knowledge in your company. Until now, most of these repositories have been implemented in isolation from one another, but that practice lies at the core of problems with data management in many companies today. Author Ole Olesen-Bagneux, chief evangelist at Actian, shows you how to masterfully manage your metadata repositories by properly coordinating them. That requires a data discovery team to increase insights for all key players in enterprise data management, from the CIO and CDO to enterprise and data architects. Coordinating these repositories will help you and your organization democratize data and excel at data management. This book shows you how. Learn what metadata repositories are and what they do Explore which data to represent in these repositories Set up a data discovery team to make data searchable Learn how to manage and coordinate repositories in a meta grid Increase innovation by setting up a functional data marketplace Make information security and data protection more robust Gain a deeper understanding of your company IT landscape Activate real enterprise architecture based on evidence

Metadata Management In Statistical Information Processing

Metadata Management In Statistical Information Processing written by Karl Fröschl and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1997-04-10 with Business & Economics categories.

By means of a formal computerized processing of information about data metadata management enables, for the first time, a computer-aided integration of distributed heterogeneous statistical data in a semantically coherent way. In connection with a specifically designed semantic data model, a comprehensive statistic information system approach is proposed which, in fact, thoroughly reengineers statistical information management.

The Future Of Post Human Meta Data written by Peter Baofu and has been published by Lulu.com this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015 with Information retrieval categories.

Is meta-data (to give data a structure and a process) really so useful? This book offers an alternative (better) way to understand the future of meta-data in regard to the dialectic relationship between structure and process-while learning from different approaches in the literature but without favoring any one of them (nor integrating them, since they are not necessarily compatible with each other). More specifically, this book offers a new theory (that is, the circumstantial theory of meta-data) to go beyond the existing approaches in a novel way, and is organized in four chapters. This seminal project here will fundamentally change the way that we think about structure and process (especially, though not solely, in the context of meta-data), together with other debates as will be discussed in the rest of the book, from the combined perspectives of the mind, nature, society, and culture, with enormous implications for the human future and what I originally called its "post-human" fate.

Metadata Management In Statistical Information Processing written by Karl A. Froeschl and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-12-21 with Computers categories.

As the integration of statistical data collected in various subject matter domains becomes more and more important in several socio-economic etc. investigation areas the management of so-called metadata – a formal digital processing of information about data – gains tremendously increasing relevance. Unlike current information technologies (e.g., database systems, computer networks, ...) facilitating merely the technical side of data collation, a coherent integration of empirical data still remains cumbersome, and thus rather costly, very often because of a lack of powerful semantic data models capturing the very meaning and structure of statistical data sets. Recognizing this deficiency, "Metadata Management" proposes a general framework for the computer-aided integration and harmonization of distributed heterogeneous statistical data sources, aiming at a truly comprehensive statistical meta-information system.

The Data Warehouse Challenge written by Michael H. Brackett and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1996-07-27 with Computers categories.

Information Technology/Database Management "...the definitive source for understanding modern data architecture. Other books have bits and pieces of architecture described, but nowhere else is there a single source that has all the components of modern data architecture in one place in an organized and readable manner." -From the Foreword by William H. Inmon The technology for compiling data has evolved to the point where most organizations now amass information faster than they can use it. The bad news is that most of that data is disparate, scattered across different databases and platforms. The time has come to tame the data chaos, and this invaluable resource shows you how. Michael H. Brackett schools you in a variety of techniques for creating a cohesive data structure that everyone in your organization can use. Step-by-step, he guides you through the entire process of planning, building, and programming a data warehouse tailored to your organization's needs. You learn how to: * Prepare and evaluate existing data for a data warehouse * Cross reference data so it's easy to find in all corporate locations * Prepare data for client/server systems * Improve the consistency and quality of existing and future data * Manage a data warehouse The Data Warehouse Challenge is an indispensable tool for database administrators and developers, systems programmers and analysts, and all those involved with helping their organizations rise to the challenge of taming data chaos.
