Eine Finanzmarktkrise, die eine weltweite Dimension erreicht hat. Die Krise ist bislang in ihrer internationalen Trageweite im Vergleich zu vergangenen Krisen beispiellos. Viele Experten meinen, dass diese Krise die schwerste Bankenkrise seit der Weltwirtschaftskrise 1929 sei. Der Internationale Währungsfonds schätzt den globalen Schaden momentan auf 4.000 Mrd. US-Dollar. Die Tendenz ist steigend. Durch die Finanzmarktturbulenzen kam es zu einer Vertrauenskrise der Kreditinstitute untereinander. Diese veranlasste die Bundesregierung mit verschiedenen Maßnahmen, in den Finanzsektor einzugreifen. Es wurde eine rein qualitative Analyse durchgeführt, die das Kundenverhalten und das Verhalten von Banken auf mögliche Wettbewerbsverzerrungen hin untersuchte. Das Ziel der Arbeit ist es, u.a. durch Experteninterviews herauszufinden sowie herauszuarbeiten, ob es in Deutschland durch die staatlichen Maßnahmen der Bundesregierung während der Finanzmarktkrise in den Finanzsektor, insbesondere bei Privatbanken, zu Wettbewerbsverzerrungen für Sparkassen und Genossenschaftsbanken kommen kann bzw. bereits gekommen ist. Im 2. Kapitel werden die Entstehung der Bankenkrise von 1931 und die Entstehung der aktuellen Finanzmarktkrise sowie deren Auswirkungen beschrieben. Ein detaillierter Zeitablauf der aktuellen Finanzmarktkrise befindet sich im Anhang. Das 3. Kapitel gibt zunächst einen Überblick über wirtschaftspolitische Instrumente des Staates und über die Geldpolitik der EZB. Danach werden die aktuellen staatlichen Maßnahmen der Bundesregierung in den Finanzsektor 2008 bis Mitte 2009 betrachtet. Im Anschluss daran werden mögliche Wettbewerbsverzerrungen insbesondere für Sparkassen und Genobanken herausgearbeitet. Das 4. Kapitel beschreibt das Vorgehen und die Zielsetzung der durchgeführten Experteninterviews. Im Rahmen der Bachelorarbeit wurden Leitfadeninterviews mit Vorstandsmitgliedern geführt. Im Anschluss daran werden die Interviews durch eine qualitative vergleichende Inhaltsanalyse ausgewertet. Im 5. Kapitel erfolgt eine detaillierte Betrachtung der Aussagen der Experten im Hinblick auf Wettbewerbsverzerrungen für den Finanzsektor bzw. insbesondere für Sparkassen und Genobanken. In Kapitel 6 wird ein Fazit gezogen. Im Anschluss erfolgt ein Ausblick auf zukünftige Auswirkungen der Finanzmarktkrise.

The publication is UNDP's forward-looking review of the factors that shape the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) progress, along with the constraints and bottlenecks that have hampered MDG achievement in many countries. The findings build on MDG assessments in 30 countries that were undertaken for this review. The report shows that while there has been notable progress on many targets and indicators across countries, it is clear that much more needs to be done for MDG achievements to be realised by 2015. Accelerated MDG achievements will depend on unlocking constraints in these four key factors that shape progress at the country level: policy choices and programme coherence; governance and capacity deficits; fiscal space constraints and aid effectiveness; national ownership: political will and partnerships. Since each country faces a unique context and set of challenges, breaking the bottlenecks will require a country specific approach.

In response to the mandate on Load and Resistance Factor Design (LRFD) implementations by the Federal Highway Administration on all new bridge projects initiated after October 1, 2007, the Iowa Highway Research Board sponsored these research projects to develop regional LRFD recommendations. The LRFD development was performed using the Iowa Department of Transportation Pile Load Test database. To increase the data points for LRFD development, develop LRFD recommendations for dynamic methods, and validate the results of LRFD calibration, 10 full-scale field tests on the most commonly used steel H-piles were conducted throughout Iowa. Detailed in situ soil investigations were carried out, push-in pressure cells were installed, and laboratory soil tests were performed. Pile responses during driving, at the end of driving, and at re-strikes were monitored using the Pile Driving Analyzer, following with the CAse Pile Wave Analysis Program analysis. The hammer blow counts were recorded for Wave Equation Analysis Program and dynamic formulas. Static load tests were performed and the pile capacities were determined based on the Davisson's criteria. The extensive experimental research studies generated important data for analytical and computational investigations. The SLT measured load-displacements were compared with the simulated results obtained using a model of the TZPILE program and using the modified borehole shear test method. Two analytical pile setup quantification methods, in terms of soil properties, were developed and validated. A new calibration procedure was developed to incorporate pile setup into LRFD.
