Statistical Physics Of Spin Glasses And Information Processing written by Hidetoshi Nishimori and has been published by Clarendon Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2001 with Computers categories.

Spin glasses are magnetic materials. Statistical mechanics, a subfield of physics, has been a powerful tool to theoretically analyse various unique properties of spin glasses. A number of new analytical techniques have been developed to establish a theory of spin glasses. Surprisingly, these techniques have turned out to offer new tools and viewpoints for the understanding of information processing problems, including neural networks, error-correcting codes, image restoration, and optimization problems. This book is one of the first publications of the past ten years that provide a broad overview of this interdisciplinary field. Most of the book is written in a self-contained manner, assuming only a general knowledge of statistical mechanics and basic probability theory. It provides the reader with a sound introduction to the field and to the analytical techniques necessary to follow its most recent developments

Glassy Materials And Disordered Solids written by Kurt Binder and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011 with Science categories.

This book gives a pedagogical introduction to the physics of amorphous solids and related disordered condensed matter systems. Important concepts from statistical mechanics such as percolation, random walks, fractals and spin glasses are explained. Using these concepts, the common aspects of these systems are emphasized, and the current understanding of the glass transition and the structure of glasses are concisely reviewed. This second edition includes new material on emerging topics in the field of disordered systems such as gels, driven systems, dynamical heterogeneities, growing length scales etc. as well as an update of the literature in this rapidly developing field.

The Collected Papers Of R H Bing written by R. H. Bing and has been published by American Mathematical Soc. this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1988 with Mathematics categories.

A powerful mathematician and a great problem solver, R. H. Bing laid the foundation for a number of areas of topology. Many of his papers have continued to serve as a source of major theoretical developments and concrete applications in recent years. One outstanding example was Michael H. Freedman's use of Bing's Shrinking Criterion to solve the four-dimensional Poincare Conjecture. This two-volume set brings together over one hundred of Bing's research, expository, and miscellaneous papers. These works range over a great variety of topics in topology, including the topology of manifolds, decomposition spaces, continua, metrization, general topology, and geometric topology. In addition, there are a number of papers in the areas of convex functions, linearity, and conformal varieties. The introductory section in the first volume provides historical background on Bing's life and achievements. This collection will appeal to mathematicians in all areas, and especially those in topology, as well as students, historians, and educators in the mathematical sciences, for it provides a complete historical summary of the mathematical events in the life of the man and the mathematician, R. H. Bing.

Computational Modelling Of Molecular Nanomagnets written by Gopalan Rajaraman and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-08-07 with Science categories.

This book summarizes the state-of-the-art advances in the area of computational modelling of molecule-based magnets. Nowadays, various computational tools based on DFT, ab initio methods and other techniques are gaining attention in molecular nanomagnets and are successfully used to solve several outstanding problems in this area. This contributed volume discusses the theoretical foundation of the modelling of molecular magnets, starting from fitting the experimental magnetic data of very large molecules to the theory of pseudo-spin Hamiltonian approach and spin-phonon relaxations mechanisms, while it also presents examples of contemporary applications of both transition metal and lanthanide molecular magnets. In addition, the transport characteristics of molecules when placed at an interface and how these assemble on surfaces are also reviewed. This book is a great tool for researchers working in the fields of molecular magnetism and computational/theoretical chemistry and will also benefit graduate students specializing in physical-inorganic chemistry and molecular modelling. Chapter 6 is available open access under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License via link.springer.com.

Quantum Hall Effects Recent Theoretical And Experimental Developments 3rd Edition written by Zyun Francis Ezawa and has been published by World Scientific Publishing Company this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-03-21 with Science categories.

Enthusiasm for research on the quantum Hall effect (QHE) is unbounded. The QHE is one of the most fascinating and beautiful phenomena in all branches of physics. Tremendous theoretical and experimental developments are still being made in this sphere. Composite bosons, composite fermions and anyons were among distinguishing ideas in the original edition. In the 2nd edition, fantastic phenomena associated with the interlayer phase coherence in the bilayer system were extensively described. The microscopic theory of the QHE was formulated based on the noncommutative geometry. Furthermore, the unconventional QHE in graphene was reviewed, where the electron dynamics can be treated as relativistic Dirac fermions and even the supersymmetric quantum mechanics plays a key role.In this 3rd edition, all chapters are carefully reexamined and updated. A highlight is the new chapter on topological insulators. Indeed, the concept of topological insulator stems from the QHE. Other new topics are recent prominent experimental discoveries in the QHE, provided by the experimentalists themselves in Part V. This new edition presents an instructive and comprehensive overview of the QHE. It is also suitable for an introduction to quantum field theory with vividly described applications. Only knowledge of quantum mechanics is assumed. This book is ideal for students and researchers in condensed matter physics, particle physics, theoretical physics and mathematical physics.

Solid State Theory written by Ulrich Rössler and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-06-29 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Solid-State Theory - An Introduction is a textbook for graduate students of physics and material sciences. Whilst covering the traditional topics of older textbooks, it also takes up new developments in theoretical concepts and materials that are connected with such breakthroughs as the quantum-Hall effects, the high-Tc superconductors, and the low-dimensional systems realized in solids. Thus besides providing the fundamental concepts to describe the physics of the electrons and ions comprising the solid, including their interactions, the book casts a bridge to the experimental facts and gives the reader an excellent insight into current research fields. A compilation of problems makes the book especially valuable to both students and teachers.
