Designing Eeg Experiments For Studying The Brain written by Aamir Saeed Malik and has been published by Academic Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-05-25 with Psychology categories.

Designing EEG Experiments for Studying the Brain: Design Code and Example Datasets details the design of various brain experiments using electroencephalogram (EEG). Providing guidelines for designing an EEG experiment, it is primarily for researchers who want to venture into this field by designing their own experiments as well as those who are excited about neuroscience and want to explore various applications related to the brain. The first chapter describes how to design an EEG experiment and details the various parameters that should be considered for success, while remaining chapters provide experiment design for a number of neurological applications, both clinical and behavioral. As each chapter is accompanied with experiment design codes and example datasets, those interested can quickly design their own experiments or use the current design for their own purposes. Helpful appendices provide various forms for one's experiment including recruitment forms, feedback forms, ethics forms, and recommendations for related hardware equipment and software for data acquisition, processing, and analysis. - Written to assist neuroscientists in experiment designs using EEG - Presents a step-by-step approach to designing both clinical and behavioral EEG experiments - Includes experiment design codes and example datasets - Provides inclusion and exclusion criteria to help correctly identify experiment subjects and the minimum number of samples - Includes appendices that provide recruitment forms, ethics forms, and various subjective tests associated with each of the chapters

Advances In Cognitive Neuroscience Of Numerical And Mathematical Processing written by Filip Van Opstal and has been published by Frontiers Media SA this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-09-12 with categories.

In this special issue, the most recent advances in the domain of numerical cognition will be presented. During the last decades, our understanding of how numbers are processed increased dramatically with the arrival of different imaging techniques and neurophysiological experiments in humans and monkeys. We are now starting to build up a clearer picture of how numbers are represented in the brain, how this representation develops in the course of a lifetime, how numbers are embedded in other cognitive features like attention, spatial memory, etc., and how this eventually leads to our capability to perform complex mathematics. Ultimately, this accumulation of knowledge might provide us with an understanding of why numbers are problematic for some people. This special issue deals with all aspects of numerical cognition: findings on the basic neural responses to magnitudes, the link between numbers, space, time, attention, action, etc., mathematical processing, numerical development, in healthy and clinical populations. This special issue solicits contributions from the field of neurobiology, neuropsychology, and behavioral and computational neuroscience that will increase our understanding of the neural mechanisms underlying numerical cognition

Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineering written by Henry W. Ott and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-09-20 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Praise for Noise Reduction Techniques IN electronic systems "Henry Ott has literally 'written the book' on the subject of EMC. . . . He not only knows the subject, but has the rare ability to communicate that knowledge to others." —EE Times Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineering is a completely revised, expanded, and updated version of Henry Ott's popular book Noise Reduction Techniques in Electronic Systems. It reflects the most recent developments in the field of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and noise reduction¿and their practical applications to the design of analog and digital circuits in computer, home entertainment, medical, telecom, industrial process control, and automotive equipment, as well as military and aerospace systems. While maintaining and updating the core information—such as cabling, grounding, filtering, shielding, digital circuit grounding and layout, and ESD—that made the previous book such a wide success, this new book includes additional coverage of: Equipment/systems grounding Switching power supplies and variable-speed motor drives Digital circuit power distribution and decoupling PCB layout and stack-up Mixed-signal PCB layout RF and transient immunity Power line disturbances Precompliance EMC measurements New appendices on dipole antennae, the theory of partial inductance, and the ten most common EMC problems The concepts presented are applicable to analog and digital circuits operating from below audio frequencies to those in the GHz range. Throughout the book, an emphasis is placed on cost-effective EMC designs, with the amount and complexity of mathematics kept to the strictest minimum. Complemented with over 250 problems with answers, Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineering equips readers with the knowledge needed to design electronic equipment that is compatible with the electromagnetic environment and compliant with national and international EMC regulations. It is an essential resource for practicing engineers who face EMC and regulatory compliance issues and an ideal textbook for EE courses at the advanced undergraduate and graduate levels.

This comprehensive book draws together experts to explore how knowledge technologies can be exploited to create new multimedia applications, and how multimedia technologies can provide new contexts for the use of knowledge technologies. Thorough coverage of all relevant topics is given. The step-by-step approach guides the reader from fundamental enabling technologies of ontologies, analysis and reasoning, through to applications which have hitherto had less attention.

Disinvestment In India written by Sudhir Naib and has been published by SAGE Publications India this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2004-03-20 with Business & Economics categories.

In India the path chosen to reform the public sector has been to first deregulate and liberalise the economy and then to privatise public sector enterprises. Debates have raged on since then on: whether reform of state-owned enterprises is necessary; the choice of strategy and method; and the social and economic consequences of such policies. Sudhir Naib has incisively analysed, from a theoretically informed perspective, crucial aspects of this topical issue. Among the important aspects he discusses are:/-//-/- whether the failure of Indian public enterprises has been exaggerated./-/- can public enterprises be reformed from within or are they intrinsically inefficient?/-/- is a change in ownership the only solution? /-/- impact of ownership and competition on the efficiency of Indian enterprises. /-/- methods of privatisation and the experience of other countries. /-/- impact of divestiture on performance of disinvested enterprises. /-//-/Dr Naib provides a firm-level analysis through case studies of seven partly disinvested enterprises (SAIL, BHEL, IOC, ITI, BEL, BEML, NFL). Impact of post-reform policies on enterprises is analysed in terms of changes in market share, cost structure, profitability and work culture. The strategic response of these enterprises is examined in terms of cost reduction measures, change in product portfolio, restructuring, innovation and institutional arrangement for diagnosing environmental changes.
