Much research in Artificial Intelligence deals with a single agent having complete control over the world. A variation of this is Distributed AI (DAI), which is concerned with the collaborative solution of global problems by a distributed group of entities. This book deals with Decentralized AI (DzAI), which is concerned with the activity of an autonomous agent in a multi-agent world. The word ``agent'' is used in a broad sense, to designate an intelligent entity acting rationally and intentionally with respect to its goals and the current state of its knowledge. A number of these agents coexist and may collaborate with other agents in a common world; each agent may accomplish its own tasks, or cooperate with other agents to perform a personal or global task. The agents have imperfect knowledge about each other and about their common world, which they can update either through perception of the world, or by communication with each other. The papers were originally presented at a workshop held at King's College, Cambridge, and have been revised for this book.

This book is a must read for aviation managers and all stakeholders that are interested in improving the business performance of airlines. In this book, the first of its kind on AI in Commercial Aviation, the author outlines how Machine Learning and AI are accelerating and improving the performance of airlines. Moreover, the author shares insights into many new use cases that emerging technology can deliver. He tackles all crucial functions from air navigation, flight operations, to sales, distribution, cargo, retailing, and commercial optimization. He then looks forward to blockchain and the metaverse and its opportunities. With connected devices and the Internet of Everything (IoE), airlines can become retailers, sell, deliver, and service holistic experiences tailored to individuals in real time. This requires airlines to modernize processes and practices supported by decision intelligence (AI) that ingests sophisticated insights and executes service automation in real time. Transforming airlines from a production to a services-based execution also requires departments to be aligned along overriding customer experience and profitability goals. The book demonstrates how AI can be deployed to redesign airline organization as well. The author also describes the next wave of business transformation around the integration of commercial functions using Composite AI at enterprise level. With his holistic understanding and experience in the airline industry, the author provides valuable insights and helps managers understand how to embrace ML and AI and contribute to future commercial aviation and cargo success.

The purpose of this proceedings is to stimulate exchange and discussion of research in the field of multi-agent systems. A multi-agent system consists of at least two agents that are engaged in some task that may require coordination, cooperation and/or competition. An autonomous agent has its own goals, capabilities and knowledge. The actions of an agent occur in the context of other agents that may have structures and strategies different from the agent's own. Multi-agent problems arise when several autonomous agents share a common environment. These problems may result from limited resources, shared or competing goals, etc. This MAAMAW workshop proceedings emphasizes multi-agent systems of all sorts from very simple to very complex agents and agent organizations.

Academic Paper from the year 2025 in the subject Computer Sciences - Artificial Intelligence, grade: 19, , language: English, abstract: The Moral Singularity: How Artificial Intelligence Will Reshape Ethics, Power, and the Future of Meaning offers a pioneering synthesis of transdisciplinary insights into the moral implications of artificial intelligence (AI) on human societies, governance, and philosophical inquiry. In an era marked by the rise of autonomous, complex AI systems, traditional moral frameworks founded on human-centric assumptions are no longer sufficient to address the ethical dilemmas posed by these new technologies. This book challenges conventional paradigms and introduces the concept of the Moral Singularity, a moment in which AI will radically transform human ethics and moral responsibility, much as the technological singularity is said to alter intelligence itself. Drawing on a diverse range of philosophical, religious, and ethical traditions—including Ubuntu, Islamic jurisprudence, and Christian ethics—the book proposes new models for understanding moral agency, responsibility, and justice in a world shared with intelligent machines. The book explores how African relational ethics (Ubuntu), Islamic concepts of justice (Adl) and moral accountability, and Christian principles of stewardship and the Imago Dei can collectively inform AI ethics in a global context, offering a more holistic and inclusive approach to the ethical governance of emerging technologies. Central to the work is the development of two groundbreaking theoretical frameworks: Distributed Responsibility Theory (DRT), which reconceptualizes moral accountability in decentralized and autonomous systems, and Ecological Moral Sovereignty (EMS), which emphasizes the interdependent relationship between human society, AI systems, and the ecosystem. The Moral Singularity provides a visionary analysis of the role of AI in shaping not only the future of technology but also the future of humanity’s moral landscape, proposing a new ethics capable of navigating the complexities of AI in an interconnected world.
