Strategy And Performance Of Knowledge Flow written by Yu Yu and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-04-24 with Business & Economics categories.
This book constructs a model of the knowledge value chain in the university and analyzes the university knowledge value-added mechanism in the process of Industry-University Collaborative Innovation. The efficiency of university knowledge value-added of Provinces in China is measured. The book illustrates the operating mechanism between enterprise subsystems and college subsystems in the collaborative innovation system, and establishes a Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) model with parallel decision making units to assess the performance of Industry-University Collaboration Innovation in China by considering the complex internal structure of the collaborative innovation system. The book also addresses various behaviors of knowledge agents in the knowledge sharing process. The research findings of this book will provide some policy implications to help policy makers to establish a more effective collaborative and interactive innovation system. The focus on China offers a unique contribution, because the form that university-industry collaborations take differs widely from country to country. The United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, and China differ vastly in the way that they implement their respective R&D policies. Some of these differences stem from national culture, others from the historical evolution of the institutions that support innovation efforts, and some from the extent of available resources.

Chinese Economic Diplomacy written by Shuxiu Zhang and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-07-01 with Business & Economics categories.
Economic diplomacy was declared in 2013 by Beijing as a priority in its "comprehensive" strategy for diplomacy. The political elite undertook to further invest in economic diplomacy as an instrument for economic growth and development. Globally, Chinese cooperation in multilateral economic processes has become critical to achieving meaningful outcomes. However, little understanding exists in current literature on the factors and mechanisms which shape the processes behind China’s economic diplomacy decision-making. Chinese Economic Diplomacy provides an understanding of the processes and practices of China’s economic diplomacy, with multilateral economic negotiations as the primary basis of analysis, specifically the UN climate change talks and the WTO Doha Round trade negotiations. It examines how early economic diplomacy in global governance contributed to the varied and evolving nature of its present-day decision-making structures and processes. Demonstrating how China’s negotiation preferences are driven by networks of political actors in formal and informal domestic and systemic environments, it also highlights the capacity of international negotiation practices to alter and re-shape China’s approach to multilateral economic negotiations. As a consequence, the book presents a framework for understanding China’s economic diplomacy decision-making processes that is systemically constructed by domestic and international agencies. Offering a Chinese perspective of the notion of economic diplomacy, this book will be of interest to students and scholars of Chinese Economics, International Relations and Political Economy.

The Law And Economics Of Irrational Behavior written by Francesco Parisi and has been published by Stanford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2005 with Business & Economics categories.
This collection of essays explores the most relevant developments at the interface of economics and psychology, giving special attention to models of irrational behavior, and draws the relevant implications of such models for the design of legal rules and institutions. The application of economic models of irrational behavior to law is especially challenging because specific departures from rational behavior differ markedly from one another. Furthermore, the analytical and deductive instruments of economic theory have to be reshaped to deal with the fragmented and heterogeneous findings of psychological research, turning towards a more experimental and inductive methodology. This volume brings together pioneering scholars in this area, along with some of the most exciting developments in the field of legal and economic theory. Areas of application include criminal law and sentencing, tort law, contract law, corporate law, and financial markets.

Defining Effective Transboundary Water Cooperation written by Melissa McCracken and has been published by Taylor & Francis this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-03-30 with Nature categories.
This book establishes a framework for defining transboundary water cooperation and a methodology for evaluating its effectiveness, which will contribute to more effective and therefore successful cooperation processes. With the increasing focus on transboundary cooperation as a part of the Sustainable Development Goal Framework, there is global recognition of transboundary water cooperation as a tool for improved governance and management of transboundary surface and groundwaters. However, there is not an agreed upon definition of transboundary water cooperation in the literature or in practice. This book develops the Four Frames of Transboundary Water Cooperation, which is a neutral modular framework for developing context-specific explanatory definitions of transboundary water cooperation in basins and aquifers. The Four Frames of Cooperation are legal, institutional, relational, and outcome. However, we need to move beyond defining cooperation to understand better measures of the quality and effectiveness of cooperative processes. The Weighted Model of Effective Cooperation presents a first step in qualitatively evaluating the effectiveness of transboundary water cooperation. This model defines effective transboundary water cooperation and operationalizes a method to evaluate the effectiveness of cooperative processes over internationally shared waters. Effective cooperation emphasizes the relational and outcome frames of cooperation while working towards equitability and sustainability. Together, the Four Frames of Cooperation and the Weighted Model of Effective Cooperation will improve the understanding of cooperation and encourage a detailed evaluation of the quality, success, and effectiveness of cooperative processes. This book will be of great interest to students and scholars of water resource management, water governance, and environmental politics. It will also appeal to policymakers and professionals working in the fields of water conflict, water diplomacy, and international cooperation.

Handbook Of Philosophy Of Management written by Cristina Neesham and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-12-01 with Philosophy categories.
The Handbook of Philosophy of Management addresses the philosophical foundations of management in theory and practice. It covers established branches of philosophy, such as aesthetics, epistemology, moral philosophy, political and social philosophy, philosophy of education, philosophy of practice, and philosophy of science. The Handbook’s broad scope maps out the field and provides a forum where philosophy can be meaningfully applied to the study of management in all its forms. The original, peer-reviewed research published here sheds new light on the complexities of management theory and practice, beyond what hitherto has been possible with the sole application of the social sciences. As philosophy provides a meta-framework for moving beyond paradigm fragmentation within management research and education, this allows researchers and practitioners to find harmony (and discord) in the perspectives revealed by a philosophical lens.

Impact Of Covid 19 Pandemics And Syndemics On Healthcare Systems Worldwide written by Ozgur Karcioglu and has been published by Frontiers Media SA this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-12-11 with Medical categories.
The COVID-19 pandemic has altered almost every aspect of the world, including economics, social issues, health care, and politics. Many experts consider this phenomenon to be a "syndemic," as it is more than just an outbreak of a viral infectious disease. Almost all countries worldwide have been deeply involved in the battle since the early months of 2020. As of June 2023, almost 700 million people have been infected, with reportedly 6.9 million deaths (around 1%) recorded globally due to COVID-19. These profound changes have had an adverse impact on healthcare systems worldwide. The healthcare industry has evolved to screen, diagnose, and treat COVID-19 patients promptly and cost-effectively. However, this shift has meant that resources have been diverted to managing a specific disease, rather than on preventive measures and critical areas of healthcare like injury prevention, care of mothers and infants, elderly care, long-term care institutions, etc. As a result, patients have encountered significant challenges in accessing care from their regular physicians, finding hospital beds, and accessing ICU beds in situations of extreme illness. Healthcare workers have also faced dramatic consequences, such as losing their lives, carrying a higher risk of infection compared to the general population, and working in high-risk environments while mourning for their colleagues and still being obligated to work for extended hours under these conditions. Additionally, vaccination procedures have been difficult and problematic, particularly in developing countries, where full coverage has been difficult to achieve. This Research Topic aims to cover topics related to the impact and challenges of the pandemic and syndemic on pediatric healthcare, focusing on specific areas such as the prehospital system, emergency departments, ICUs, medical branches, preventive medicine, rehabilitation, sports medicine, and infection surveillance.
