Pada 1951, DPR D Bali mengeluarkan keputusan nomor 11/DPR mencabut paswara tahun 1910 yang telah diubah dengan Beslit Residen Bali dan Lombok tanggal 11 April 1927 nomor 352. Paswara tahun 1927 itu mengatur mengenai perkawinan antarkasta yang dianggap terlarang, yakni Asu Pundung dan Alangkahi Karang Hulu. Meskipun larangan perkawinan antar kasta ini sudah itak berlaku lagi, ternyata praktik-praktik hukum adat Bali yang mengarah kepada upaya menegakkan pelaksanaan hukum adat yang ditentukan dalam paswara tersebut masih berjalan. Bahkan, sanksi hukum adat atas perkawinan terlarang itu mengalami dinamika baik pada masa sebelum maupun sesudah dikeluarkan keputusan DPR D Bali tersebut tanpa memperhitungkan kemungkinan pelanggaran HAM atas wanita Bali. Hal ini dimungkinkan karena hukum adat Bali mengandung karakter religio magis yang menempatkan mitos sebagai kebenaran. Buku ini memberi pengetahuan dan pencerahan mengenai perkawinan dimaksud dalam perspektif lebih luas dan mendalam.
