Bakpao is one of the most popular snacks in Indonesia. This round shaped food is usually filled with savory or sweet filling. One of the most favorite fillings is salted egg, also known as telur asin. In this article, we will show you how to make bakpao telur asin at home.

Ingredients:
– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 tbsp instant yeast
– 1/2 cup warm water
– 2 tbsp sugar
– 1/4 tsp salt
– 1 tbsp oil
– 6 salted eggs, peeled and quartered

Instructions:

1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Mix well.
2. Make a well in the center of the mixture and pour in warm water and oil.
3. Use a spatula to mix everything until you get a sticky dough.
4. Transfer the dough onto a clean surface and knead it for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
5. Put the dough back into the mixing bowl and cover it with a damp cloth or plastic wrap.
6. Place the bowl in a warm place for about an hour or until the dough doubles in size.
7. Once the dough has risen, punch it down to remove any air bubbles.
8. Divide the dough into 6 portions and flatten each portion with your palm to form a circle shape.
9. Place one quarter of salted egg on top of each circle-shaped dough.
10. Gather all edges of the dough together around each ball to seal it completely.
11. Place each ball onto parchment paper or baking cups.
12. Let them rise again for another 10 minutes before steaming them over high heat for about 15 minutes.
